Papertrey Ink Christmas card.

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all having a good weekend. Better late than never, I just want to post a card for the PTI Make it Monday challenge, which this week was to use a glue pad to add flock, perfect pearls or glitter to a card. Its a long time since I got my perfect pearls out so I chose to use them with with some of Dawn McVeys gorgeous stamps. I used the round candy from Candy Cane Christmas to make some baubles and stamped it onto sweet blush card before brushing the pearls on. Its a very grey day today in Manchester, so I've found it quite hard to get good photographs but this shows some of the shine that is quite marked in real life

I cut the baubles out with a1.75 inch circle punch and layered them onto white card cut with a scallop punch. I used some lovely organza ribbon to hang the baubles on and it really pops on the pure poppy card.

I was really pleased with how Dawn's Signature Christmas sentiment stamped and embossed so well on the textured card base I chose.

A little inking and rounding of edges along with some red pearls for the centres of the baubles finished everything off.

Sorry again for the poor light in my photos and thanks for looking.

Hugs
Carol x

Hi Carol - it has been a grey day here too.
I just love this card and how you made the baubles, the little ribbons are so cute.
Thanks for all the lovely encouraging remarks you leave on my blog.

Oh Carol what a fantastic card. I just love how you turned candy into Christmas ornaments--that glittering makes it so elegant.

Love this, Carol! I have not used this set yet, somehow my candy isn't as cute as yours! Thanks for the inspiration! :)

Beautiful card, and very fun thinking of all that giant candy. Congratulations on your shout out by Nicole on Facebook.

Hi Carol - I bet making this card brightened your day. Such loving detail, like the skinny sheer ribbon for hanging the candy, and then those beautiful fat bows at the top of each. (How do you make those gorgeous bows!?) I love how you used two sentiments on the front of the card. (Can you tell I've been staying in my creative 'box' for a while?)
By the way, your photos are great. It seems really tough to try to capture the sparkly stuff with a camera. I always try to wait for sunshine to take the shots, but that can mean days between picture taking this last year. It must be nearly impossible in foggy England!
Thanks for sharing.
