Papertrey Ink birthday card

Hello everyone and a happy Jubilee weekend to you.

The bunting is flying around here and despite the disappearance of the sunshine, things are feeling pretty festive. We are off to the Wirral tomorrow to celebrate with friends and watch the Royal River Pageant with a glass or two of fizz, and then we are having a neighbourhood garden party on Monday where much cake will be eaten. I would not describe myself as highly patriotic but I feel so lucky to live in a country where we are free to express ourselves, and where our ethos is to ensure that people have free access to healthcare, basic education and the ballot box. The news from other countries this past year has only heightened this feeling despite the economic gloom.

The challenge over at Less is More this week is to celebrate the Jubilee by making a card that is red, white and blue, and I whipped up this little card that fits the bill

I stamped the plaid stamp on the base card and cut a 13/4 inch circle from the top panel and stamped the greeting before embossing it with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, and rounding one corner. I added a die cut red heart which I covered with glossy accents for a touch of shine as it is such a special occasion.

The top panel was raised on foam to give a little dimension.

I also made a quick card that was based on one I made for the card pack  a little while ago. This was an acceptance to the Jubilee afternoon tea garden party on Monday, and continues the red white and blue theme.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a fabulous weekend.

Hugs
Carol x

Couldn't agree with your sentiments more Carol. We are very lucky to live in the UK when you see what's going on in the world. And of course I'm extra lucky to live in Wales! (LOL)

Great cards - I love anything with cut-outs and this one is very creative. Sorry I haven't been commenting much lately - my Mum is very unwell. But I do visit more often than I comment! :o)

Thanks for popping over to see the antics of the Doodly Birds in London. They are a naughty bunch.
I'm glad you popped in as I've now joined your followers and I've noticed we are near neighbours. Me and the Doodlies are in Whitworth.
I like your jubilee card, you've given me an idea for my Jubilee play day tomorrow.
Enjoy your extended weekend.
