Faitrade mug sets

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry to have been MIA for so long but things have been a bit hectic for me. I am still cooking for my daughter's party on Saturday even though the freezer is bursting at the seams, - and I am loving every minute of it. It is ages since I did so much batch cooking and I love seeing it all laid out for people to enjoy. Perhaps there is a bit of the earthmother in me after all!

On top of that, a good friend of mine came downstairs on Valentine's day to find a dozen red roses, a card, and an engaement ring along with a proposal from her partner of 16 years! They are going to get married on 2nd April and have asked us to be the Matron of honour and Best Man at their wedding. I haven't organised a Hen Party since I was a teenager but I am requested to make it a sedate affair and I'm not sure what that looks like!

It is Fairtrade Fortnight here in the UK and I have been making up mug packs again for my daughter to sell at the Fairtrade Cafe she organises at her school

Yummy hot chocolate, marshmallows, a candy cane and Kitkat make up the contents and I am sure some of the children will be snapping these up to give to their Mums on Mothers Day on 18th March.

some of the packs ready to go!

We are off to the Lake District for a couple of days now and I hope normal service will resume around here next week.

Thanks for looking.

Papertrey Ink Day 9

Hello everyone,

This is day 9 of Papertrey Ink's anniversary celebrations and I have really enjoyed playing along with the challenges. Of course it would have been great to win one of the prizes, but I'm quite pleased that I have been able to squeeze cardmaking into some busy days. My lovely daughter will be be 30 in a couple of weeks and is going to have a party, so I have volunteered to do the catering. I had a bit of a panic thinking that I had bitten off more than I could chew, but now I have got some of the dishes cooked and in the freezer, I feel it is more manageable.

Today Nichole asked us to make a card with butterflies and leaves on and this is what I came up with:-

I saw the idea of using the Sending You Die for an aperture on Kara's blog on one of the Papertrey Blog Hops. Stamps used were from Butterfly Dreams, Harvest Berries, Round and Round and Signature Greetings.

I'm also going to enter this into the challenge at Crafty Pad Designs which is to use something on the card beginning with the letter B.

New Baby card

Hello everyone,

I'm back for Day 7 of the PTI Anniversary celebrations and today we were asked to make a card with hearts on. As I made a Valentine card earlier in the week, I decided to go with a new baby card this time and used another of the sketches,Nichole gave us yesterday

PTI-Sketch-3

I christened my heart border die by cutting some felt for a banner on this card and followed the sketch quite faithfully:-

I die cut the minute little hearts from the centre of the Love Lives Here butterfly die, and the babygrow from the Hanging Out die. The sentiment is from my favourite sentiment set Signature Greetings. The background was stamped with Background Basics: Hearts.

Papertrey Ink New Home card

Hello everyone,

We are onto Day 6 of the PTI Anniversary today and we were asked to use a sketch from 5 that Nichole posted on her blog. I liked all of the sketches and will probably get round to using each of them but today I chose this one

PTI-Sketch-1

There seems to be a lot of flowers coming up in this release so I was inspired to get out my sets and create  background paper using a variety of flowers from several sets, in raspberry fizz, spring moss and aqua mist ink. I inked the edge and matted it onto raspberry fizz card before placing in on the base card. I cut the wine bottle tag in aqua mist and cut it down to fit on the card after wrapping some ribbon around it. I then cut an oval doily on my Silhouette Cameo (still getting used to it - but loving it so far), and added the die cut house from Love Lives Here. The sentiment came from the same set.

I'm really enjoying these challenges but I'm off for a nap now before I get to see what goodies everyone else produces. I didn't sleep so well last night and as we're off to a quiz evening tonight, my brain needs a rest or I won't be any help to my team. Who am I kidding. A sleep won't make much difference in that direction unless a memory transplant can happen while I'm asleep :)!

Papertrey Ink Vantine card

Hello everyone,

Just a quick card to enter into the Papertrey Day 5 celebrations. This time we had to take inspiration from a Pinterest post and I chose to case this lovely card that I saw on one of the boards.  It was pinned after one of the PTI Blog Hops

Pinned Image

I used the heart prints stamp set (stamped from a set owned by my friend Anne - thanks Anne:) and die cut them to make a simple Valentine card. It could be used for an anniversary card too.

I love the heart prints stamps and they are now added to my very long wish list. Oh to win the lottery! But then I'd have to remember to buy a ticket!!!

Thanks for looking.

Papertrey Ink Happy Birthday card

Hello everyone and welcome to Karen and Vicky who are new followers this week. Its day 4 of the PTI Anniversary celebrations and we have been asked to make a project using one of the Design Team's suggested colour schemes. I decided to try Dawn McVey's colour scheme of melon berry, raspberry fizz and ripe avocado. I wanted to use the vine die as a stem for the flower, and when I looked at the waste card from the cut, it looked rather like the flower was bursting forth from it as if from a pod, so I went with that idea.

The flower was cut from beautiful blooms dies topped with a melon berry button, and a tiny tag with a few gems for some added bling finished it all off.

Thanks for stopping by.

PTI Valentine card

Hello everyone,

Its time for the 5th Anniversary celebrations over at Papertrey Ink and lots of prizes are going to be offered during the run up to the February release. I would love to win some of these goodies so I have made a Valentine card today from the free sheet of images Nichole gave us to try a project with. I couldn't make up my mind which of the lovely images to use so I settled on using three of them in this card, to link all the sentiments.

I cut each image into a circle shape and matted them onto scalloped circles after colouring them with Copic markers. I  adapted the middle circle by covering the the centre and adding a felt heart and a little button and bow. The sentiment was stamped onto a mat cut down from one of the mat stack dies. The background paper was stamped with a Little Argyle.

Thanks for stopping by.
