Table Settings for Papertrey Ink Blog Hop and Easter Card

Blog-hop-logo

Hello everyone and I hope you had a really good weekend and are ready for another week.

Today is the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop and we were asked to use monograms on a project. We had a taste of spring last week for a couple of days and it put me in mind of Easter, so I made a little place setting for my daughter, Laura, for Easter Sunday Lunch.

This was the place card made with the place card die and harvest gold card embossed with white ink.

Next came the napkin ring just made with a strip of card, topped with circles made with Limitless Layers Circles

Then a little favour box for some little choccie treats

I had a big problem with the card cracking on this box. I ended up making three before deciding it would have to do because I couldn't waste any more precious PTI card stock. I tried just folding the lines that the die had scored, and then re scoring them with my bone folder, and lastly used my scoreboard and an embossing tool. All three cracked so if anyone has tips on how to overcome this I'd be grateful to hear them.

I finally stamped a sunflower image onto a paper napkin to finish the place setting.

Now I just have to make sets for the rest of us and add some spring flowers and we will have a pretty table on the day.

I also made an Easter card in the same colours although this doesn't have a monogram. Perhaps I should have put one on the tag.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop.

Hugs
Carol x

Oh my gosh look at you Carol! My, you have gone to town with these monograms and each project is perfect and beautiful! I love the stamped napkin , and do that a lot myself. Gorgeous!

What an incredible table setting--even the napkin is stamped. I never thought of that, but it is an incredible idea. I love the card, too. So, I have that same problem, too, with the card stock cracking--I don't have that die, but it happens with my pillow boxes. I have started trying to make them with thinner card stock, and that seems to work better, although then the box is flimsier. Anyway, only a perfectionist crafter would know, and your favor box looks great.

Fabulous idea to ink/monogram napkins! I have some sad looking plain ones I use when friends come over, but they'll never be plain again after seeing your decorations! TFS!

What a wonderful ensemble Carol. All of your stamped projects are beautiful and I love the colour combination. Like you I treasure my PTI cardstock but sometimes it is just a bit too thick for some dies! Fabulous monograms.

Your projects are beautiful!! Looks so "Spring" perfect! I wonder if you dampened the cardstock slightly before you fold if that would help with the cracking problem??

Oh come on! Why haven't I thought of stamping a napkin? Brilliant! Love each and every project. Don't have a clue how to stop cracking, it doesn't bother me. Your workmanship is lovely.

All of your projects are lovely.
I like the soft spring colours as well.
Sorry I have no ideas on why your card stock cracked like that, how frustrating.

I adore your triangle box. I had that problem with my pillow box die and put a die-cut layer of fun foam inside the die and it helped so that the scoring wasn't so deep/harsh. Such a lovely table setting. Love the colors and embossing!
