New baby card

Hello everyone,

With all the lovely weather we've been having, it is hard to be indoors in the craft room but the Summer Card Camp is offering such a lot of inspiration that I just have to keep popping in. Day 4 was ideal for this because for the homework we were asked to make a card in 10 minutes!!! Such a challenge for me because I take forever to decide what to do and how to place items. Nevertheless, I took on board all the advice, planned my card in advance, and adapted one of the card sketches we were given. Having made two very colourful cards for the first 2 homeworks, I returned to my comfort zone and just used different shades of blue with white on this one.

I used a PTI die to cut the sentiment word out of spring rain cardstock and cut it again in white card before stamping it with a dotty background stamp. I then offset the words to give a shadow effect.

All materials are from Papertrey Ink and it is my first use of this gorgeous bird from Polka Dot Parade 5. To finish the card off I cut one of the tiny tags and tied it around the 'y' with some crochet thread.

That pesky little bow almost took me over 10 minutes but I just scraped in with 9 minutes 39 seconds. Whew.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs
Carol x
