Papertrey Ink Engagement card

Hello everyone,

I hope you are having a good weekend and carving out a little craft time for yourself. I have been spending a lot of time with my (teacher) daughter over the summer holidays and I shall miss her when she goes back to school next week, but once we hit September it is definitely time to look forward to autumn and I really love it before it gets too cold. I have a big birthday coming up in September and I think I would rather ignore it but it seems my daughter has other plans so there will be some kind of gathering to celebrate/commiserate with me.

I have seen other people enter some gorgeous cards into the CAS-ual Fridays challenges and I thought I would play along for the first time this week.

We were asked to use Kraft and text on a card and I came up with this one

I cut a panel of kraft cardstock and embossed the scroll designs from Papertrey Ink Boutique Borders Birthday in white. I die cut 2 butterflies with  the Love Lives Here dies and stamped them with the Bitty Background stamps in Hawaiian Shores ink, before curling the edges of the butterflies to give a bit of dimension. I popped little red hearts into the the centres of the butterflies and added glossy accents to give them some shine (doesn't show up so well in this photo). Next I stamped and embossed the sentiments from PTI Just a Kiss with Zing embossing powder. I finally used a canvas texture plate on the panel before adhering the butterflies. I added a couple of strips of striped paper to the edges of the panel and raised it with pop dots on the base card.

As this was a card for my daughter to give one of her friends who had just got engaged, I made an envelope liner and stamped it with the butterfly stamp to make it a little special.

I am also entering this into the Cute Card Thursdays challenge which is 'things with wings' and Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge which is 'anything goes'.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs
Carol .

This is so pretty. I just adore the look of white embossing on kraft. And, your envelope liner gives it that extra special touch.
