Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge #1

Hello everyone, and welcome to the first challenge of the year over at the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge Blog. I hope you had a good festive season, but do you remember how rushed you felt before Christmas trying to fit everything in? Before that feeling becomes a distant memory, why not decide to join our challenge and get a head start on your cards for next time? Each challenge starts on a Tuesday and here are the rules

Holly Jolly Christmas Rules

  •  HAVE FUN!
  • Entries must be a new card or project, no back linking allowed
  • Must be a Christmas project.
  • Link to your post not to your blog.
  • If it is a color challenge, only the colors of the challenge plus a neutral color is allowed eg. white, vanilla, black, kraft.
  • may enter a maximum of 10 challenges including ours.
  • no more than 2 entries per person per challenge.

Challenge #1 is to use ribbon and/or lace on a project, and it is sponsored by Bugaboo Digi Stamps

Here is what I came up with:-

I just used strips of Papertrey Ink ribbon and cut notches in the ends to make the tree. I added a partridge and pear, along with a gold star for the top, and a little pot to stand it in. The sentiment banner was from Simon Says Stamps, and the background was embossed with an Embossabilities folder. Why not pop over to the HJCC Blog and see what my talented Teamies have come up with.
I'm also going to enter this into the Merry Monday challenge which also is to use ribbon or twine.

Thanks for stopping by

Hugs
Carol x

What a lovely card! I love the ribbon tree, but your additions of the bird and pear made me think immediately of a partridge in a pear tree. So sweet!

This is really a genius idea, Carol, and what a great way to use up those snippets of ribbon!! I'm going to try and remember this challenge! Funnily your challenge and the current Merry Monday challenge are both to use ribbon. I wonder if it would be kosher to link up the same card with two different Christmas card challenges? What a coincident, huh? Anyway, thanks for this inspiration!! Hugs, Darnell
