Congratulations card

Hello everyone,

We have been having beautiful weather in my neck of the woods which makes for lots of cheerful people even though we are coming to the end of summer. My husband is away for for 5 days so I have been taking a holiday from cooking and just eating what I like, when I like, which is bliss. I am continuing with my whole house declutter, and I think my car could make its own way to the refuse tip by now. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now. It might only be a pinprick but it is there!!

All these things have been keeping me out of my craft room, but I had to come back to make a congratulations card for a lovely young woman who has had remarkable exam results after having a lot of ill health this year. In spite of having lots of time off school, she was determined not to fall behind and worked extra hard when it would have been easy to let her health problems win. Her determination really paid off and she can now start her A Level Courses with her head held high.

I decided to mix up a lot of sentiments from My Favorite Things, Paper Smooches and PTI to create a focal panel and came up with this:-

I was so pleased to get a run of sentiments that said what I wanted to say, and that I could mix up the colours to make a bright card that I hope will appeal to her. I used a superstar theme and used the PTI Confetti Die along the side and cut her name out on my Silhouette Cameo. The large stars were were stamped and cut with the Star Prints set and I scattered lots of tiny stars across the panel which were cut with a Simon Says Stamps die. It's a bit hard to see but I stamped and  clear embossed a background star stamp from Impression Obsession on the base card.

Darnell is celebrating her 600th follower by having a challenge to use Never Before Used Stuff and I as I inked up my PTI Wet Pant sorry Paint stamps for the first time for this card, I'm off to play along. Congratulations on yet another milestone my friend!

I'd also like to enter this into the current Path of Positivity Challenge  which is 'Determination'

and the Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge which is to mix things up for the Stamptember blog hop.

I have been so busy that I haven't had chance to visit for a while, and I'm starting to get withdrawal symptoms, but I'm hoping to get round to see what you've been up to tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs
Carol x

Oh, your card is so bright and cheerful for this young woman. It sounds as if she had worked extremely hard and should receive many congratulations. You've made the perfect card for her with the many awesome sentiments.

You are doing what I want to do, declutter. Gosh, I have so much I need to get rid of and really don't know where to start.

Well, now then, haven't you given some stamp designer a marvelous idea to make a set of stamps called "Wet Pant?!" Or how about "We Pant" specializing in dogs suffering from hot weather? Oh, you do get me started!! You card is absolutely perfect for the young Annie, Carol! She sounds like a very determined and delightful young woman who will go very far in this world, in spite of the medical issues. With cards like this, she will be encouraged and motivated to stay positive and keep it up, so good for you to help out in this way!! Thank you so much for playing in my second NBUS Challenge!! And congratulations on the whole-house decluttering!! Drinks are on me! Hugs, Darnell
