Little Claire and Papertrey Ink Christmas card

Hello everyone, and a specially warm welcome to a couple of new friends who have joined us as followers this week. First up is Hazel of My Card Attic. Hazel has a distinctive CAS style and makes some gorgeous backgrounds for her cards ( see here and here ), that last one was made from leftovers too! Welcome also to Missy Pink from The Crafty Pink Girl blog. Missy Pink has amazing colouring skills and is a fellow Clearly Besotted stamp enthusiast! Missy also has some great tips for using the Silhouette Cameo if you have one. I do hope you will call to see them and say hello.

Well as it is Sunday, it must be time for a new challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges, and this time we have the very popular 'anything goes' theme. I came up with this card which is a larger format that I normally make

I used the Little Claire 'At Home' image which isn't actually a Christmas stamp, but I put it into a snowy scene so I could stretch my supplies. I simply stamped and coloured the image, then coloured in the sky with some distress ink. I then used a glue pen to add the snow hill and snowy roofs with some very fine glitter. I embossed the sentiment in white onto a Papertrey Ink Photo Finish strip, and as a final touch I added the birds in the top right hand corner of the image.

I love the look of glitter but does anyone else have the same problem when using it? I always think I have been very careful and cleaned it all up, but invariably there is some on my face, even after a shower! I went to a formal meeting once and thought I looked quite smart, and when I spoke, people were paying close attention to what I was saying. However when I popped out to the loo, I saw that I had stray flakes of glitter on my face and realised it was the sparkle that had attracted attention, not my pearls of wisdom lol!

Why not pop over to the Christmas Card Challenge blog to see some inspiration from the rest of the team and join in with us this week.

I'd like to play along with

Jingle Belles - let it snow

Holly Jolly Christmas - clean and simple

Merry Monday - non evergreen tree - my tree has lost most of its leaves so I hope it counts?

Sparkle and Sprinkle - use loose glitter

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs

This is wonderful Carol, love the colours you have chosen here and the sparkly snow looks fabulous. It's always the dog that ends up covered when I am crafting!! xx

Oh, stop! I'll bet it was both the glitter AND your pearls of wisdom, Carol, not to mention your natural good looks!! Which brings me to this fantastic glittery card. I adore it! The sweet little village is amazing enough, but the pear tree with the partridges puts it over the top!! Enjoy your day! Hugs, Darnell
