Penny Black Christmas tree card

Hello everyone,

I'm really excited to be part of the new monthly Christmas challenge over at Happy Little Stampers. Our first challenge has the cue word Tree for inspiration

and I decided to challenge myself for this first one by making a one layer card - yes I voluntarily made a one layer card!

I started by masking off a square, a moon and a snowbank before stamping the Penny Black Christmas tree several times in Versamark Ink and embossing with clear embossing powder to provide a resist. I then inked the sky with Distress Inks and stamped various trees in the background. When everything was dry, I embossed the greeting (from Clearly Besotted) in white and used the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil and Aleene's Glitter Snow texture paste to add a little texture. To finish it off, I added glitter to the snowbank, used a pen to draw a square and then added some dashes and dots for a second border.

Why not pop over to the Happy Little Stampers blog to see what my talented Teamies have to show you, and support us for our first ever Christmas challenge. You know it will be good to either start or add to your Christmas card collection so December will be fun this year!

Thanks for stopping by,

Hugs

Carol, this is such a multi-dimensional one layer card...love the effects you've achieved with the lights & shadows on the trees, along with the lovely framing technique you've done. It is a beautiful card, and certainly looks like many layers. Well done! TFS & great to be on the HLS Christmas Challenge team with you.
