Papertrey Ink Rustic Wreath Christmas card

Hello everyone,

Thank you if you joined in with the Christmas Card Challenge last week. Our theme was 'anything goes' and we had lots of great entries. Someone told me there are only 17 Saturdays left until Christmas, which is a very scary thought, so why not join in with us this week. You'll be so pleased when you see your card pile grow and you won't be in a panic come the Christmas rush. Our challenge for this week is a colour one and the palette is full of beautiful pastel colours, while the shell inspiration photo has a lovely sheen to it.

This is what I came up with

I first stamped the background hearts with Papertrey Ink Background Basics Hearts in a pale pink colour. I then cut a square of vellum and heat embossed the PTI Rustic Wreath image in white, before colouring the leaves in a variety of pastel colours. I glued this onto the heart background and then die cut a stitched frame to hide the glue that could be seen through the vellum. This panel was placed onto a shimmery pink mat and then raised onto the shaped card base with foam tape. I stamped and embossed the sentiment onto the base card and die cut the Merry Christmas twice from two colours of card to give a shadow effect.

I finished it off by adding some glaze to the leaves and scattering a few little hearts around the card.
I wasn't at all sure about these colours for a Christmas card but I really like how it turned out.

Why not go over to the Christmas Card Challenge blog to see some more inspiration cards from the Design Team. Remember that the theme is for inspiration only and you can enter any kind of Christmas card into the challenge, if you like.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs

It's gorgeous! Always love to see vellum on cards, since it adds so much depth. The wreath is so pretty done this way, and the colored leaves sparkle like tiny jewels. The white embossing shows up so nicely too. Brilliant idea to hide the glue with the frame, as it also added even more depth to the card. And simply love the bold layers of the die sentiment.
