MFT Strike up the Band birthday card

Hello and welcome to challenge #110 at

and this time we challenge you to show us some red white and blue.

I had some new supplies from My Favorite Things that I couldn't wait to pull out and use for this challenge. These cute band mice were screaming to be dressed in red white and blue, so I obliged them and came up with this card.

I used the My Favorite Things Striped Sentiment Strip Cover Up and placed blue card behind it for the background. Next, I drew some black dashes along one of the lower strips to provide a road for the mice to walk on. I've stopped buying the dies for every stamp set I buy now to save some pennies, so I stamped, embossed and fussy cut the mice before colouring them with Copics.

I added some glaze pen to the cymbal and horn which gives them a nice shine but it hasn't shown up in the photos. The stamp set I used is the MFT Strike Up The Band set, and I used a couple of the sentiments from it and added the Papertrey Ink Birthday die cut. To finish it off I added the mice to the card and raised the middle mouse to give some more dimension.

Lots of inspiration from the team can be found on the Simply Create Too blog and I can't wait to see your red white and blue entries.

I'd like to play along with

The Male Room challenge - critters or bugs

Addicted to Stamps Photo inspiration - I was inspired by the colours

Sparkles Forum Challenge - Animal Magic

Thanks for stopping by.
