Papertrey Ink and Crafter's Companion birthday cake stepper card

 Hello everyone,

Well, it's time to brush your crafty mojo up and have some fun because we are starting the Anything Goes week over at Addicted to Stamps and More.

A close friend of mine just celebrated her 60th birthday, and this is the card I made for her.

1) Make a stepper card base or use a premade one like I did. This one is from Crafter's Companion.

2) Emboss the maroon background mat with the Bubbles embossing folder from CC, and cut a sheet of coordinating patterned paper to decorate the front of the card, then layer everything up.

3) Die cut the cake and candles using a die from the Papertrey Ink Just Desserts set, then stamp a sponge cake base using the coordinating tamp set and some beige ink. Add the red jam layers leaving some space for the cream filling, before stamping the candles.

4) Stamp and die cut the strawberry and blueberry topping and coat the strawberries with glossy accents. Add some gloss to the candle flames too. You can see this better in the small photo at the top.

5) Die cut the Happy Birthday banner using the CC die and fix it to the front of the card, and place the cake under it on some foam tape.

Now I did decorate the inside of the card but I forgot to take a photo of it:(  I'm too good a friend to stick a great big 60 on the outside, but I did stamp '60 looks good on you' on the inside.

You can find lots of inspiration on the ATSM blog, and you can link up your entries there.

I'd like to play along with
