Papertrey Ink Humming Along and My Favorite Things birthday card

Hello there,

I hope you are well and enjoying the summer sunshine if you have it in your neck of the woods. The new challenge over at Simply Create Too starts today and this time we are asking you to use flowers.

Our Blog Badge

I bet you have loads of them in your crafty stash - I know I do - I can't seem to resist them when new ones catch my eye. We have an arched lattice panel in our garden with a fuschia tumbling down it, and I tried to echo this in my card, as I had new fuschia stamps from Papertrey Ink sitting on my desk. Have you entered the world of layering stamps yet? They seem to be everywhere and I certainly had fun playing with this set.

1) Die cut a stitched rectangle from white card and use the half circle die from My Favorite Things Blueprints 24, to cut an arch at the top of the panel.

2) Use blue watercolour to paint a wash on the panel and set it aside to dry.

3) Die cut and stamp the layers on the fuschias from the PTI Humming Along set. I made two of these for layering over each other.

4) Stamp and die cut the humming bird, then stamp the sentiment from the MFT Spring Tulips set in black Versafine ink towards the bottom of the panel.

5) Raise the panel on fun foam and glue it to the base card before arranging the flowers and bird on the card to finish it off.

The Design Team has lots of lovely cards for you to get inspiration from over on the Simply Create Too Blog and if you care to join us, you can link your card up anytime before the 25th August.

Love that fuschia stamp, it's so pretty cascading on your card. How clever to create the arch like that, great idea. Hope you and yours have a lovely weekend x
