Birthday Card with Waltzing Mouse Stamps

Hello everyone,

Its a glorious sunny day here and I should be out enjoying the garden in the sunshine but I've been trying to convince myself that my current lack of crafting mojo is down to the fact that I've spent so little time crafting recently. I sat myself down and decided to follow a sketch challenge in the hope it would all come back. Ha. Bad decision. I've spent most of the day second guessing myself and I'm still not happy with what I've come up with, but it is going to have to do because a long cold drink is calling to me and I have my book group book to read by next week.

This is the sketch I took from Waltzing Mouse

and this is the first card I came up with

I thought it was ok, but its missing something and so I had another go and this is the second version.

Now I think its too busy and I cannot decide which one to enter into the sketch challenge. Oh well, I'll go off into the garden and come back to it later. Do you have days like this? Any comments would be very helpful at this stage.

Thanks for the comments Laura and Stella, I agree with you that the first card is probably better - I often do not know when to stop!

  1. I love it, the tag is lovely! I prefer the first one but like them both. You're fab even without your mojo! x

  2. I know what you mean but I think both cards turned out lovely. If I were you I'd submit the first one. I love that white space on your card. It 'directed" me to your beautiful tag and the yummy xupxakes :)
It almost looks CAS but it also has something feminine and elegant. Great way to use pink!
So what do you think? The 1st card?
And you are not the only one; most of the times it takes me at least 2 hours to come up with something decent :)

    Love and hugs,

  3. Oh I love the addition of the little leaf print PINK, so cute! Lovely use of those WMS images. The sentiments and tag have such a nice flow with the way you combined them! Such a sweet birthday card...just deliciously good!

  4. Hi Carol!

Love your cards! the first one is already so pretty, but I do agree, the second one is even better! Though I see what Stella is saying as well, but those leaves in pink are just so cute!! Very nice cards, both!!!

    Hugs, Wendy

  5. To be honest, I love the second one! Very pretty card! :)

  6. Hi Carol - I prefer the first one, but then I am a lover of white space! Whatever you do is fabulous though! Nx

  7. Oh my gosh, so glad you showed the before and after. I LOVE the after card. This is so pretty and love the pink. Wow what a difference. Beautiful!

  8. Both are really pretty!! But I think I like the the after even better. And I really like the way you used the gingham.

Hello, and thank you for taking time to visit my blog. I would really appreciate it if you could find time to leave a comment before you leave.
