Papertrey Ink and Sweet n Sassy Butterfly card

Wow - two posts in one day don't happen for me too often! If you are looking for the Simply Create Too post, please scroll down.

Fairy tale challengeblog

Hello everyone,

Well three months really whizzed by and it is time for my last post as Guest Designer over at the Fairy tale challenge blog. I'd like to thank Bianca for having me and making everything so easy. It has been great fun, and that continues this week because we have been asked to create a card using feathers or wings. The challenge is being sponsored by

Our Sponsor 2015

and there is a great prize for the winner. I chose to use a digi stamp from the Everyday Miracles set and came up with this card.

I enlarged the one of the butterflies in the set and fussy cut it before colouring it with and alcohol pens. Once the ink was dry, I painted it with 2 coats of Wink of Stella glitter and shaped the butterfly round a pencil to give it some movement. I used Papertrey Ink Lemon Tart card as a base and die cut one of their Boutique Border Birthday dies and stamped it with the coordinating stamp in orange zest ink, before stamping a sentiment from the Butterfly Dreams stamp set. I put a panel of the lemon card through my Ebosser with the Canvas and Linen Impression plate and added a strip of card which I stamped with the stripey stamp from Candy Canes. I really like to have a couple of cards in my stash that can be made into a card for several occasions. This one would be ideal for graduation, other examination success, and even new job, with the addition of another sentiment inside.

Why not pop over to the  Fairy tale challenge blog to see all the inspiration the Design Team have for you, and join in with the challenge.

Thanks again Bianca, and thanks to you for stopping by. Have a great weekend.

Papertrey Ink Ballerina Beauty birthday card

Fairy tale challengeblog

Hello everyone and welcome to another challenge over at the The Fairy tale Challenge blog, where I am continuing my Guest Designer spot. For this challenge we are asked to use some corrugated card - I know it is a fun blast from the past but luckily, because I find it so hard to get rid of anything, I still had some in my stash. I came up with this card

I used the Ballerina Beauty stamp and die set from Papertrey Ink and the colours were inspired by the aqua colour of the chevron corrugated card. I used a number of Copic markers to create the ombre effect on the dress, and then added some dots with a white gel pen.

I wanted to create a spotlight for her to dance in so I took some masking tape and created an open

triangle shape, and then used an inking tool and some yellow ink to give the suggestion of light. I curved the sentiment on an acrylic block to follow the shape of the card and added a couple of enamel dots to highlight it.

Some Wink of Stella glitter on the dress, and glaze on the bow finished it off. Why not pop over to the The Fairy tale Challenge blog to see what inspiration the team have for you and join with us this time.

My Favorite Things tulip birthday card

Fairy tale challengeblog

Hello everyone,

I hope you are looking forward to the weekend, and have something good planned if you have some down time. A fortnight has whizzed by and it's time for another challenge over at the Fairytale Challenge blog, where I am continuing to contribute as a guest designer, and this time we are asking you to use a stamp you have not used very often. I decided to use one that I haven't even inked up yet and came us with this CAS card

The stamp set I used is My Favorite Things Spring Tulips and I simply die cut and coloured the tulips with alcohol markers, and also coloured the little hearts with the same pens. It is a little difficult to see in the photo, but I coated them both with some WOS glitter to add some subtle sparkle. I absolutely love tulips and I always have some in the house in the spring, and this card is destined to wing it's way to one of my friends who loves them just as much as I do. Why not pop over to the blog to see the inspiration that the Design Team have for you and join in with us this time.

Sweet treat box for Fairytale Challenge

Fairy tale challengeblog
Hello everyone and I can't believe that we have rushed through another week and its the weekend again already!  We have friends coming for dinner tomorrow night and I want to get as much prep done today as I can, so that I will be able to put in a little crafty time tomorrow before they arrive.

I am continuing my Guest Designer spot at the Fairytale Challenge blog, and this time we are asking you to create a box, a topper, or a wrapping for something sweet. This challenge is being sponsored by

Milk Coffee

and I chose to use one of their cute images called Lisbeth Valentine Fruit.

I coloured the image with Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen, before cutting it out with a Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 1 die. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things and after stamping it onto the the tag, I matted it onto a larger teal die cut. The gable box was cut on my Silhouette Cameo and I wrapped some ribbon round it and tied a bow before attaching the cute tag.

The Easter Blog Hop was a great success and thank you to everyone who took part. You may remember that I was offering a little gift for the hop

and the winner, drawn at random from the commenters on my blog post, is Kristina. Congratulations Kristina and I will post the gift as soon as you let me know your address.

Well that's all for today and thanks for stopping by.

Easter Bunny card

Fairy tale challengeblog

Hello everyone and welcome to the Fairytale Challenge Easter Blog Hop. I am still guest designing for the challenge and this time the theme is 'Many Colours'.

I chose to make an Easter card with lots of fresh colours, so I cut out a little bunny on my Silhouette Cameo to use as a mask, and I then stamped multicoloured spots around it so that when I removed the mask, you could see the bunny silhouette.

I used the Papertrey Ink Polka Dot Parade #1 stamp set for the sentiment so the spotty theme continued and I added a strip of paper from the Sparkle and Shine pad along the side of the card, along with a strip of pink card.

To celebrate the blog hop I will be giving one randomly chosen commenter a little Easter gift of some Crafty Bitz embellishments,

and the winner will be announced here and on the Fairytale Challenge blog a couple of days before the next challenge begins. Some of the other DT members are offering little gifts too, so do stop by to see them

Aurora Wings Clover Pixie Flower Birthday card

Hello everyone, and a very warm welcome to a couple of new friends who are joining us as followers this week. Ka of Stamping Smiles Designs, lives in Wisconsin with her husband and is a talented card maker with a varied style. She has been blogging since January and it would be great if you popped over to say hello. Vicki from Stamp Smiles has been crafting for many years and has served on numerous Design Teams. She has a wonderful, eclectic style and you can find lots of inspiration and tutorials on her blog.

Well, it is time for another challenge over at Fairy-tale Challenge Blog  where I am pleased to be a Guest Designer. This time the challenge is Flower Power and we are sponsored by

Our Sponsor 2015

I chose to use their Clover Pixie for my card and came up with this :-

I printed the digi stamp twice onto white card and coloured it with Copics, before fussy cutting some of the flowers so I could decoupage them onto the base image. I hand cut a mask to cover the stamped image and sponged blue ink onto the background, before sticking on the flowers and adding some glitter to sparkle things up a bit.

I cut the image out with a die from one of the My Favorite Things Blueprints sets, and I mounted it onto a piece of card that I impressed with a PTI Impression plate. A little banner die and some baker's twine finished it off. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

Why not pop over to the Fairy-tale Challenge Blog to see what the talented Design Team have for you and join in with us this time. Have a good Friday the 13th - hopefully some of Clover's magical Pixie dust will keep us safe today!
Thanks for stopping by

Clearly Besotted 'Love Blossoms' birthday card

Fairy tale challengeblog

Hello everyone,

I'm delighted to say that I have been asked to be a guest designer over at the Fairytale Challenge Blog and this time the theme is 'use kraft paper'. I decided to make a card for my crafty friend Anne, who celebrated  a significant birthday this week, and I came up with this card:-

I used my NBUS Clearly Besotted Love Blossoms stamps and dies along with with the Papertrey Ink Wet Paint sentiment stamps. I stamped the branch in white ink from Hero Arts and that stamped again, slightly below it in brown ink to give a shadowed look, and I did the same with the flowers.

Why not pop over to the Fairytale Challenge Blog to see some inspiration from the talented DT and join us in the Kraft paper challenge.
