Sheena Douglas Evergreen Trees Christmas card

 

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at ABC Christmas.

Fabiola is hosting this month and she has a lovely surprise prize for the winner.

The year is whizzing by and we have reached S and T already so we have:

S for Snow

and

T for Trees

I made one card that embraces both of the themes

I began with the background by masking off a square shape and adding moon and snowbank masks before taking a snowfall stencil and pressing versamark ink through it to create a resist. Once it was dry, I blended ink to create the sky using Distress Oxide inks and added a few water drops to add to the snowy feel. I then added versamark ink to the snowbank and embossed it with Wow Sparkling Snow glitter. The panel was cut with a scalloped square die and the Clearly Besotted sentiment was added at the bottom.

I cut the Sheena Douglas Evergreen Trees 3 times and left the top one in the die and pressed versamark through the die holes so I could add the same snow embossing powder to the trees.

I finished off by adding a little pink and grey ink to the moon and inking the edge of the mat with blue ink to create a frame.

Sheena Douglas Christmas Deer diorama Christmas card

Hello everyone and welcome back to the ABC Christmas Challenge

The lovely  Lynda/Loopyloo is hour host this time and she has a great little prize for our winner.  For our November challenge, we are nearly at the end of the alphabet and we're looking forward to seeing your creations with the themes of:

'W'  for Winter Wonderland

and/or

'X' for Xtra Special

I just have one card to share that doubles for both our themes. The scene is a winter wonderland and is made with a diorama look that seems a bit special to me.

I cut, scored and folded the card into a diorama shape and cut the centre out using the Sheena Douglass Christmas Deer die. I then stamped and watercoloured the deer using Brushed Corduroy distress ink. I also inked the frame using Walnut Stain DI.

For the background, I inked the sky using a cloud stencil from Inkylicious and hand-cut a snowbank to go behind the deer.

To finish off I added a sprinkling of glitter and a couple of Papertrey Ink die cut holly leaves with Nuvo Drops for berries.

We are just about to enter another national lockdown here which should just be for a month, and I'm hoping to retrieve my mojo and challenge myself to get all my Christmas cards finished. Sheena Douglas Scenic Winter Christmas Deer birthday card

Hello everyone and welcome to the second Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge, where the theme is anything goes with an optional twist of Dies.

Well we were bowled over by your response to our first challenge and you are making it really hard to pick the top 5! Why not play along this time and you could win a $15 discount to the Happy Little Stampers Store

I got some new Sheena Douglas Scenic Winter : Christmas Deer stamps and dies just before Christmas but didn't get enough time to play with them. I am on a mission to make more use of my stash, so I decided to change the winter, snow covered trees to a spring/summer green ones, so it can be used year round.

1) Take a square of watercolour paper, mark a horizon and paint a light watercolour wash. 

2) Stamp the tree stamp from the Sheena Douglas Perfect Partner Scenic Winter stamp set, and watercolour the trees and hills. Paint the sky and clouds, and when it is dry stamp some birds.

 3) Die cut the Scenic Winter Christmas Deer from cream card and stamp the matching stamp onto the deer, before painting him.

4) Use distress ink to add some colour to the frame die cut and stamp Happy Birthday from the HLS Especially For You stamp set.

5) Adhere the watercolour paper to a PTI Rustic Cream card base, and use thin strips of foam tape to raise the frame die on top to give dimension.
