Uniko Valentine or anniversary card

Hello everyone and welcome to CAS week at Addicted to Stamping and more.

I'm still feeling pooped after we had our 20month old Granddaughter to stay last weekend while her parents had their first few days away since her birth. We've had her overnight a few times and we also look after her for one day every week, so she is very used to us, but I was a bit worried that she might not cope so well over a longer period. Well, I needn't have bothered because she had a ball and really settled well. She was still bouncing around when her parents arrived to collect her but we collapsed in a heap lol! How did I cope with three under fours??

I bought a little Uniko Stamp set called You Are, Yes You at the recent Happy Stampers Festival at Port Sunlight and pulled it out for this card:

I simply stamped the flower, added a leaf sprig and coloured them with Copics.

The sentiment is from the same set and I finished it off with a tiny heart stamp. I have my wedding anniversary next month and I might stamp Happy Anniversary inside and use it for that, otherwise, I think it will make a nice Valentine card with the appropriate sentiment inside. Now I look at it, I think it could also be used as a thank you card too. I like a generic card that can cover lots of occasions.

As always, you'll find lots of inspiration over on the ATSM blog, and I hope you will join in with us this week.

Papertrey Ink With All My Heart 1st Anniversary card

Hello everyone, I'm guest designing over at The Joy of SetsChallenge this month, which is a tic tac toe challenge, and Fiona created this grid for us to choose from
septembergrid.png

I opted for the top row, love, heart and numbers to come up with this card

I used the Papertrey Ink With All My Heart stamp and Limitless Layers Heart die set to create the heart.

The 1st bit comes from a very old Hero Arts stamp set called Number 1 which I love, but of course, the number can be changed or even left out to make it suitable for any old anniversary. The sentiment is from a mix of Happy Little Stampers sets and I added glossy accents to a little red heart to finish it off.

Thanks, Fiona, for inviting me to join in this month - I really enjoyed it! You can join in the challenge too if you visit the Joy of Sets tic tac toe challenge blog.

MFT Birds of a Feather Congratulations you two card

Hello everyone and welcome back to the challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More. This time we have our Clean and Simple week which means we are looking for lots of white space with minimal embellishments.

Here is my card

I used my new  My Favorite Things Birds of a Feather die set and the Rectangle Peekaboo Window to create the front and added an inked sky behind the lovebirds.

I made this as an anniversary card but as it just says Congratulations, it could be used for a wedding, engagement, or even first new home together if I put a nest or birdhouse on the inside.

Sadly, Bobby has decided to step down from the team this year and I will miss seeing her gorgeous cards in the gallery, but we are pleased to welcome Izzy, and you can see her card and inspiration from the rest of the team over on the ASTM blog.

Happy Little Stampers Cards for the New Launch Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to the Happy Little Stampers new release Blog Hop! Why not grab a cuppa and settle down with us for a while.

We are celebrating the release of 6 gorgeous new stamp sets from Happy Little Stampers and a whole host of designers have tons of inspiration to share with you.

By joining us throughout our blog hop, you have the chance to win a $50 gift certificate to the HLS shop! Wow! All you have to do is work your way through the hop list and comment on each of the blogs. A random winner will be drawn from all those that comment. Make sure you visit ALL of them because that's the only way to be assured you are in the draw. You have 1 week (until the 28th of November 12pm AEST) to complete the hop.

I am going to be highlighting a couple of the sets - so let's get down to it.

My first card uses Especially For You

I used the beautiful flower from the set and embossed it a couple of times with white embossing powder before colouring them with my new Spectrum Noir Illustrator pens.

The sentiments are from the previously released Everyday Sentiments set, and I cut the panel out with a stitched rectangle die before layering it up, and finishing it off with a few glitter gems.

My next card used the spray of flowers from the Especially For you set. This time I cut an oval shaped mask and and placed it on a panel of card which I cut with a stitched rectangle die.

I stamped the flowers round the edge of the mask with black ink, then removed it and coloured the flowers with the same markers. I die cut a thin oval frame of yellow card to highlight the centre of the oval and stamped the greetings which came from the Rainy Days stamp set.

I used the pens to add little dots around the sentiment, then layered up the card on some fun foam and used a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen in the flower centres to finish it off.

Next I used the cute cloud and sun stamp from the Rainy Days stamp set. I stamped the cloud onto a stitched rectangle of card and also stamped and cut a mask from a full stick post it note.

I masked off the cloud and then used my Clarity stencil brush to brush on a few colours of blue distress ink over the entire panel. I removed the mask and coloured using the Illustrator pens, before stamping a few raindrops which I covered with a glaze pen to make them look like water.

The sentiment is from the same set, and I simply finished off by using some sparkle pen on the sun and layering the panel up with fun foam.

My final card used the butterfly from the Especially For You set. I took black card and added some Pixie Powders in Firework Burst and Silver Dream, before spraying with water to create a background.

Once the card was dry, I cut a postage panel with a Sizzix die and stamped and embossed a rectangle in the centre with silver embossing powder. On another piece of the card, I stamped and embossed the large butterfly and also a small one from the previously released Thinking of You set, and I fussy cut and shaped them.

I stamped and embossed a couple of the sentiments from the set, added the butterflies and then layered the panel on to some silver mirri card, before placing it onto the base card.

Well that's it from me, but if you are following the hop in order, you now need to visit the fabulous Susan Renshaw

Don't worry if you get lost because here is a list of all the participants

Carol Steedman you are here

and you have a full week to visit everyone.

Enjoy the hop and thanks for stopping by.

Clearly Besotted Anniversary Card

Hello and welcome to the new Mixed Media challenge over at Happy Little Stampers

where the theme this time is 'distress' which leaves lots of room for interpretation.

I started by punching a circle from masking paper and placing it near the top of some glossy card. I have a very old texture stamp, that I removed from a wooden block several years ago and it has lost it's label, but I began by stamping it on the piece of glossy card with Ranger Archival Shadow Gray ink, which I heat set. I also left this overnight because it was glossy card.

The next day I blended 3 distress inks over the panel and then stamped the branch from Clearly Besotted Love Blossoms stamp set using Stazon ink. The two birds were die cut and placed on the branch and the panel was mounted onto a black mat,

To finish off, I stamped the sentiment on the base card, stencilled a couple of hearts with red ink, and raised the panel on fun foam before removing the moon mask.

We are lucky enough to have Autumn of Sew Paper Paint join us this time as Guest Designer and you can see her lovely card and inspiration from the rest of the team over on the HLS blog and I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I'd like to play along with

Papertrey Ink Ruby Wedding Card - 40th Wedding Anniversary card

Hello everyone,

I think my craft mojo is still on holiday but as I had to make a 40th Anniversary card for some dear friends, I came up with this one:-

I used some Sue Wilson Noble Classic dies for the die cut and debossed frame, and Papertrey Ink Limitless Layers Heart dies for the focal panel. The heart and flowers were stamped with PTI 'With All My Heart' stamps and the sentiment is PTI Think Big Favorites #24

I love multi step stamps like this which allow you to build up the design with different colours, and I have to say that this is my go to stamp set for anniversary cards. The Scarlet Jewel card and ink is also perfect for a 'ruby' anniversary. I used some very old but NBUS glitter glaze on the leaves, but I have to say I prefer my Wink of Stella brush pen. The glitter glaze had to be put on with a paint brush and I foolishly thought it would wash out - turns out I now need a new paint brush!

Mama Elephant and Simon Says Stamp Anniversary card

Hello everyone,

I hope you had a great Easter and enjoyed your chocolate. I had a really lovely weekend with birthday celebrations for my youngest son who is now 30!!, and then a relaxing few days with spring sunshine blessing us for the duration.

As we had company, I didn't get any time to craft so I sat down to play today and join in with a few challenges I haven't tried before. I came up with this CAS card:-

I used this sketch over at Showcase your Style,

and this one from Your Next Stamp

YNSSketch-11

and I incorporated the challenge at Happy Little Stampers

I started with an A2 card base that I embossed with a stitched rectangle die, and then used two Simon Says Stamp stencils -  Falling Hearts and Falling Snow along with a Memory Box Starry Nights one to stencil the backgrounds on each square in pink ink. I then matted them onto stitched square mats, and over stamped the I love you with a Mama Elephant stamp and embossed it with clear embossing powder. The anniversary sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and I added a little heart to dot the i with, but the card looked a little unfinished somehow, so I used a score board to emboss a couple of lines above and below the squares

Thanks for stopping by.

40th Wedding Anniversary Card

Hello everyone,

I think I mentioned a little while ago that my husband and I would be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary today, and that I would be scheduling a number of posts this month because we are away a lot, and this is one of them. I thought that I would share the card I made for my kind and patient other half and as it is a 40th Anniversary, I had to use a ruby colour, so my favourite Papertrey Ink Scarlet Jewel card and ink came to the rescue!

The cute main image is from a stamp I have had for years, but I can't tell you what it is because a while ago I removed all my wood backed rubber stamps from their bases and then promptly lost the list I made saying what they are! If any of you can help with identifying it, I would be very grateful.
The dies are from My Favorite Things Blueprints 3 set and the other stamps are from Papertrey Ink With all my Heart set. I added some silvery sparkle to the moon, but it doesn't show up well on the picture. It makes me think of the song - "By the light, of the silvery moon, I love to spoon, with my honey ......etc". But that will be showing my age again I suppose!

Short and sweet today but I should get back to normal at the end of next week.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges

Thanks for stopping by.

Papertrey Ink wedding/anniversary card

Anniversary-blog-header

Hello everyone,

I'm back for what will be the last day of PTI Anniversary challenges:(

This time Nichole asked us to make a card and envelope combo, but time was tight for me so I used another of the sketches from yesterday and came up with this card

which could be for a wedding or anniversary. I used the Propose a toast stamps and die and limeade ice card and ink along with some chamomile ink for the champagne.

For the envelope, I cut a liner and stamped it with an Impression Obsession star background stamp.

For the front of the envelope I used the Simon Says Stamps Envelope Sentiments stamps, and here is the finished combo.

I'd like to enter this into the Creative Romance challenge 'let's get sentimental',
and Brown Sugar challenge which is to use a die cut.

I've really enjoyed these challenges and I'm so pleased that I manged to play with every single on!!!

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day.

Hugs
Carol x
