30th Birthday card - Papertrey Ink

Hello everyone and a very warm welcome to Irene and Di who are new followers this week.

I have been having a very busy time recently hand have had little time to craft but I thought I'd share a 30th birthday card I made recently with the lovely Papertrey Ink Banner Builder Dies and stamps.

I cut the banner pieces in aqua mist felt and used an alphabet die to cut the name. The  number was cut on my Cameo and I stamped it with a little floral stamp in versamark ink to give it a little interest

I'd like to enter this into theSimon Says Stamps challenge which has a birthday theme to celebrate its 4th birthday. There are some prizes up for grabs that would easily find a place on my desk but as I will be the 710th entry!!! I won't hold my breath. I would also like to enter it into the Make it Monday  anything goes challenge, and the Creative Corner challenge which is for a girly birthday.

30th birthday card

Hello everyone and a very warm welcome to Charmaine and Andrene who are new followers this week.

I'm back for Day 3 of the Pattern Play course



and for day 3 we were asked to use a difficult pattern paper on a project. Well I'd had this paper in my stash for at least 5 years and never found a way of using it, but I was asked to make a large 30th birthday card  and thought this might fit the bill. So two challenges to take me out of my comfort zone  - large cards are a challenge because there is so much space to fill - and finally using this very girly paper.

I made an 8 inch by 8 inch white card base, and I found a darker toning card but didn't have a paper that would go with it so I took a piece of paler pink card and stamped little hearts all over it to make my own second patterned paper. 

I typed the sentiment on the computer and used Papertrey Ink mat stack dies to frame it and inked the edge of the top frame with white ink

and I cut a row of hearts with the PTI heart border die to separate the two patterns

and a bought dress sticker finished it off. 

Whew!!!

30th birthday card

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Karen who is a new follower this week. I'm taking a breather after my daughter's 30th birthday party which was great fun, and I'm hoping to do a little crafting this week. I'm gutted that I forgot to take my camera to the party so I'm hoping some of the guests will be able to provide a little photographic evidence that a good time was had by all! I tried to take a photo on my phone of my first attempt at making cake pops for a table centrepiece, but it hasn't come out very well. I got the idea for the fun sign from something I saw in Pinerest. I'm still getting to grips with my Silhouette Cameo and was quite pleased that I was able to weld letters together so easily to make the sign, and a little faux stitching brought it to life. I know the cake pops aren't very uniform but it was my first try and I can't wait to have another go!

Sadly I have no picture of my gorgeous birthday girl blowing out the candles on her cake but here is the card I made her :-

I cut the numbers on the Cameo and used the circles backround stamp from Round and Round to make the background. The sentiments were from Think Big Favourites 7 and Big Birthday Wishes. I'm really loving the Papertrey Ink twill ribbon- it has a soft sheen that reflects the light so beautifully.
