Woodware Into the Woods sympathy card

Hello everyone and welcome to another challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More. I hope you had a good Bank Holiday weekend if you are in the UK. They reckon it was a record for sunshine and heat, and it certainly felt like it! It was good to catch up with friends and family and I always try to make the most of it because it's the last BH until Christmas. A scary thought!

Anyway, our challenge this time is the ever-popular 'anything goes', so you can pull out anything you fancy and go to town. Sadly, I had need of a sympathy card, so I came up with this one

I blended distress oxide inks and then stamped the Woodware Into the Woods silhouette stamp on top of it. I cut the panel with one of the MFT Blueprints 33 dies.

The stacked die-cut sentiment is from Simpon Says Stamp, and the stamped one is from Clearly Besotted. I finished off by adding splatters in the same colours. I'm sorry the lighting on the photo isn't very good today!

Altenew and Papertrey Ink Poppy Sympathy card

Hello everyone and welcome to the May Happy Little Stampers Watercolour challenge. Well, we were bowled over by the fabulous quality of the entries for last month, and we are so pleased that you are liking this challenge so much. Once again, this is an anything goes watercolour challenge but each month we have an optional twist to add to the fun,

and as always, we have a prize, donated by our lovely Kylie

Our optional twist this time is 'Red' so I came up with this card

1) Die cut a piece of watercolour card with the stitched panel die from My Favorite Things Blueprints 23
2) Using the MISTI stamp positioner, stamp the outline stamp from the Altenew Painted Poppy stamp, in red ink. Paint the poppy using red ink, and then stamp the image again, this time just inking up the centre with black ink.
3) Repeat step 2 but re position the stamp so that it is going off the panel. When the paint is dry, add some touches of darker ink with a very fine brush to give the impression of folds in the petals.
4) Add a couple of stems to the flowers with green ink, and add a strip of black card to the edge of the panel.

5) Cut a small rectangle of red card and round the corners with a corner chomper before stamping and white embossing the sentiment from Papertrey Ink Year of Flowers Carnation stamp set.

6) Fix the panel to a red base card on some fun foam and attach the sentiment. Finish off with a few Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Clearly Besotted with sympathy card

Hello everyone,

It's time for the mid post at the Simply Create Too Challenge where the theme is the ever popular Anything Goes. Sadly, I had need of a with sympathy card recently, so made this card. I always find it difficult to get the tone right with a sympathy card and this one was for a man who had lost his mother, so I decided to go for the darkish basecard but still keep a soft flower image. 

I cut a square panel of Tim Hottz watercolour card and stamped the image from the Clearly Besotted 'Thinking of you' stamp set, before embossing it with white embossing powder. I watercoloured the flower and let it dry before layering it onto a panel cut with a stitched square die from Lil'Inker Designs. I made the basecard from Papertrey Ink tropical teal cardstock and stamped it in versamark ink with the Impression Obsession Canvas cover a card background stamp to give it a little texture. The sentiment from PTI was also embossed in white and I added a few enamel dots. I used a punch to cut some semicircles on the bottom of the card to finish it off.

Papertrey Ink sympathy card

Hi everyone, and welcome to Mary J and Crafty Starkie who are new followers this week. I really appreciate those of you who decide to follow my blog or leave such sweet comments - it's what makes this blogging thing worthwhile.

I hope you have are having a good weekend. We went to see a show on Friday night and then had some friends round for dinner last night, so today is for some down time and starting to plan the wedding scrapbook I have promised to my friend. It is ages since I have made a scrapbook so I am both excited and scared about how it will turn out. Am I the only one who gets nervous about committing things to paper? I place pictures and embellishments on the pages and endlessly move them around over several days before I take the plunge and stick them down.

I enjoyed the CAS card on line class so much in January that I have signed up for another one that starts tomorrow, and this time it is for using cutters. I am more or less okay with die cuts but I have so much to learn about electronic cutting and I hope it will help me get to grips with my Cameo.

Today I'd like to share a card I made for a lovely neighbour and member of my Book Group whose husband sadly passed away a couple of weeks ago after a long battle with cancer. I always find sympathy cards so hard to make but I think the PTI stamp set 'With Sympathy' really hits the spot.
After stamping the foliage image in spring moss ink and adding the roses in yellow, I used the canvas embossing plate to give a little texture.

I cut the ribbon banner die in white and green, stamped the sentiment on the white one and then cut it down and matted it onto the green one

the ribbon is PTI ripe avocado bitty dot.

Papertrey Ink Sympathy Card

I hope you had a good weekend and are refreshed for the week ahead. I had a lovely weekend seeing family and friends and today, after I finished some housework, I got time to do some crafting. The Make it Monday challenge over at Papertrey Ink is to create a sympathy card so I got out some supplies and came up with this card:-

I used vintage cream card, stamped the stem from Flutterby Friends and then coloured it with Copics. I stamped a little butterfly which is from Penny Black and again coloured it in. I added some glitter to the leaves and the butterfly which you can see if you enlarge the picture.The lower sentiment came from With Sympathy and the higher one was from Round and Round. I really like linking two sentiments in this way. I used a corner punch, then inked the edges of the panel with some soft brown chalk ink

and mounted it and the small sentiment onto dark chocolate card. I wrapped some cream twine around the panel and tied a little knot before adhering it to a fine linen base card with some pop dots. The final touch was to add a couple of pink gems to make a visual triangle with the butterfly. Hope you like it.

Thinking of you sympathy card

Hello everyone,

We came back from holiday a couple days ago having had wonderful weather and a great time. We were in the beautiful East Sussex countryside in a converted stable cottage that had a lovely garden which backed on to a wildflower meadow that in turn led on to a secluded wood. We visited gardens and pretty villages on the South Downs, and I even managed to fit in a workshop at the Craft Barn and at the Glitter Pot craft shops! The weather was so hot that there was a real problem with glue setting far too quickly but my sticky fingers just added to the fun.

Whilst at the cottage, a baby blue tit decided to come inside to visit and then panicked when it couldn't get out. OK it was me that panicked but my husband gently caught the bird and took it outside to continue its adventures.

When we returned, we had some sad news that a friend's father had died so I made a quick sympathy card to send. I really should keep some sympathy cards on hand but it always seems more tempting to make celebration cards instead. Anyway back to the mound of washing.
