Sizzix Hedgehugs and Lisa Horton birthday card

Hello everyone, and welcome to a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More

This time, you can go to town with whatever colouring medium you like to produce a card for our challenge.

I have had these cute Sizzix Hedgehogs in my stash for quite a while now, and I decided it was time to pull them out and ink them up.

This is a very simple card. Just a little ink blending for the background, the addition of a couple of sentiments, and a stitched square die to make a mat. The hedgehogs were stamped, fussy cut, and I added some gloss to the nose and feet with a black glaze gel pen. The mat was placed on a Lisa Horton Bubble die cut, and a couple of tiny butterflies finished it off.

Concord &9th Heartfelt Blossoms thinking of you card

Hello everyone, and welcome to the new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.

For this card, I used my NBUS Concord & 9th stamp and die set called Heartfelt Blossoms, which I have overlooked for too long. I stamped the image and watercoloured the flowers, but used a fineliner to colour in the green frame. The die cuts out the centre to create a frame, and I stacked this a couple of times to give some dimension. The sentiment is also from the set. I first used a white background, but it looked rather stark, so I used my new Kristina Werner Splatter Texture Stamps in both colours to add some interest. I like how thinking of you cards can be used for several occasions, depending on what is put inside.

The bedroom is finally finished, and we're putting things back in there. We're having quite the tussle with me wanting to dispose of lots of 'stuff' and my husband wanting to hold onto everything!

Spellbinders Daisy Trio card

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well and getting some crafty time to yourself. We are starting a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More, and this time you can make a design for any occasion.

I created a card with a general sentiment on the front, allowing me to add a more specific sentiment inside to match the occasion.

I die-cut a rectangle of white card and used a Betterpress Plate called Daisy Trio by Yana Smakula.I used the coordinating stencils to add the colour, and finished off with the die-cut sentiment which is from the Pinkfresh Studio My Favourite Sentiments Pressplate.

We're in chaos at home with a refurbishment of our bedroom happening next week. I can't believe how much stuff was tucked away in that room! We've had to empty it completely because it needs to be replastered, and all the stuff is now scattered around the house. I feel a decluttering session coming on lol!

Penny Black Tulips in Bloom birthday card

Hello everyone, and welcome to the birthday challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More. I made this for a friend who has a spring birthday, so it is a little late being shown here, but flowers are welcome any time of year, and they are only one season late!

I stamped the Penny Black Tulips in Bloom stamp onto watercolour paper and coloured it with Gansai Tambi watercolour paints. I still struggle with watercolouring, but I was pleased with how this one turned out. My brush does insist on colouring every part of the image, though, no matter how hard I try to leave a little white space. This stamp has a die available for it, and I was pleased to have it because of the intricate bits, not being the best fussy-cutter.

For the background, I used the Penny Black Delicate Octagon frame dies, cutting two and overlapping them. The fallout from one of these was used for the background, which was simply brushed with ink, and a Papertrey Ink sentiment finished it off.

Penny Black Frozen Vistas Christmas card

Hello everyone, and welcome to a new challenge day at Addicted to Stamps and More.

This time, we have our Christmas theme

and I came up with this card

I stamped the Penny Black Frozen Vista stamp in black and then coloured the image with Copic pens, before cutting it out with the matching die.

I placed the image on a card blank, added the Penny Black Stitched Loop frame dies, and finished off by adding some glitter to the scene.

My Christmas pile is growing nicely, and I hope yours is too, so you won't be in a mad rush at the end.

Penny Black Tulip birthday card

Hello all, and welcome!

Despite the droopy hot weather, we're back with a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More,

and this time we are asking you to make your mark with any colouring medium you fancy.
I came up with a landscape shape card for a change.

I used my new Penny Black tulip 3d embossing folder and die, and then used the accompanying stencils, to colour the image with pink, purple and green inks.

I used the Spellbinder Essential Petal dies to cut the layers and coloured the bottom one with the same ink. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I'm sorry the photos aren't very sharp - I'm not sure what I did wrong here:-(

We had some great entries last week, so thank you if you joined us, and there's lots to see on the ATSM blog if you'd like some inspiration.

The Greetery Diamond Ribbons birthday card

Hello everyone, and welcome to the die-cuts and/or stencils challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.

I've been itching to use my new supplies from the Greetery, which fit this challenge, so I pulled them out and had some fun.

The set is called Diamond Ribbons and I stated by stamping the plants image onto white card. I then used the stencil to colour the flowers and edded some details like the flower shading and centres with fineliner pen.

I used my favourite bluey teal colour scheme and found some toning card that has a subtle shimmer, which I cut with the ribbon die.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, and I stamped it on the PTI Limitless Layers oval dies. To finish off, I added some tiny leftover die-cut circles that were waste from another project, and then applied Nuvo Crystal Glaze to them. Sadly, my glaze became a bit cloudy and flattened out as it dried. Have you had this happen? I'm not sure if my technique is faulty or if they are just getting a bit old.

My clever Team Mates have some great inspiration for you over on the ATSM blog. I hope you join us this time.

Lawn Fawn and Creative Expressions Easter egg card

Hello everyone, and welcome to the next challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.

This time we have our Any Occasion Challenge, and, even though Eater has passed for this year, I have the Easter card I made for my granddaughter to show.

As soon as I saw this Lawn Fawn Easter Egg Backdrop die, I had to have it, and I'm so pleased with how it turned out. I cut the die in white card first, and I love the fact that it has a stitched edge that gives a framed effect. I added some Crafter's Companion paper behind the eggs, and backed the flowers with coloured card bits from my box.

The large egg and sentiment were cut with Sue Wilson dies from Creative Expressions, and it fit perfectly in the aperture. The panel was then stuck onto an A2 card base.

The design team has some great inspiration for you on the ATSM blog, and it would be lovely to have you join us.

Poppystamps and John Next Door birthday cake card

Hello everyone, and welcome to a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.

This time we are looking for birthday cards, and I came up with this card for a friend's 80th birthday.

I used the John Next Door Leaping Stag Circle Dies for the frame, which I cut in white and laid over some silver mirri card. Next came a die-cut circle, embossed with a star embossing folder from Creative Craft. I then cut the Poppystamps cake easel card die. On this occasion, I only used the large cake, cut in brown as a chocolate cake, and cut the icing from pink glitter card. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, and the tiny banner is from my leftover box. I toyed with putting the number on the card but decided against. I know some people like to celebrate the number, while others would rather forget it, so I only use the numbers for younger people these days.

The design team has some great inspiration for you on the ATSM blog, and you can enter your card over there if you want to join in the fun.

Crafters Companion and Penny Black Christmas card

Hello and welcome to another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More

We have our Christmas Challenge this time, so I came up with this card.

I used an old and underused Crafter's Companion snowflake embossing folder and inked one side with distress oxide ink. This left the snowflakes white, and I was quite pleased with their texture after embossing them. On this occasion, I used heavy watercolour paper and I'll try that again, but I made the mistake of die-cutting the stitched rectangle after emossing, which flattened the snowflakes a little.

The sentiment is from Penny Black. I cut it several times in white card and once in navy and stacked it to give a chipboard effect. I  pressed a Versamark inkpad over it and triple clear embossed it, which gave the glossy finish I wanted. The camera didn't pick this up well, but you can see it better in the small photo at the top.

We're continuing to have wonderful weather in my neck of the woods but my gardening husband is concerned that the lack of rain is affecting the lawn and plants in the garden. I wonder if we need to consider more drought-tolerant plants if this trend continues. That would be a big change for Manchester's reputation of being a rainy city!

As always, my talented Design Team friends have inspiration cards for you to see on the ATSM Blog, and you can link up your entry there, too.

Poppystamps Woven Basket and Spellbinders pop up birthday card

Hello everyone, and I hope you are well. We've been enjoying some fabulous spring weather in my neck of the woods, so I'm glad I made this card a little while ago, allowing me to get out and enjoy it while it lasts. Our new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More starts up today, and this time we are looking for you to use die cuts and/or stencils.

I used both on this pop-up card

I used the Poppystamps woven basket pop-up die set to create the card, and for the basket, I left the die in place after cutting and inked some brown ink through it to highlight the basket weave.

I lightly stencilled some blue ink on the background before filling the basket with flowers and leaves from a couple of Spellbinder sets.

I used the sentiment from MFT to create the stopper and finished off with a bow.

As always, the DT has some great inspiration over on the blog and I look forward to seeing your entries if you decide to join us.

My Favorite Things Box of Chocolates birthday card

Hello friends and welcome to the new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.

This time we have our birthday challenge, and I came up with this card using my NBUS My Favorite Things Box of Chocolates dies.

I made this card for my daughter's birthday and, as she has a weakness for chocolates, it was perfect for her. It was fun making the individual choccies and adding the decorative elements along with the heart shapes for the box. Once I had assembled it, I used a textured base card and a brown frame cut with a John Next Door die. To finish off, I stamped and die cut the sentiment from The Greetery, shadowed it with the same die, and cut it in brown card, which I offset.

The team at Addicted to Stamps and More has lots of great inspiration for you over on the blog, and they would love to hear from you.

Kristiner Werner Merry Trees Christmas card

Hello everyone and welcome to the latest challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.

We are looking for your Christmas designs this time round, and I came up with this one.

I used the Christmas release from Kristine Werner and actually made a batch of these that were sent out in December.
Simple graduated stencilling on the trees before stamping and embossing the white details. The die-cut sentiment was simply cut in red and white, and I added the 'BE' from another sentiment stamp set in my stash.

You'll find lots of inspiration on the ATSM blog and I hope you will join us this time.

The Greetery and Spellbinders Christmas money envelope

Hello everyone and welcome to the new gathering at Addicted to Stamps and More.

This time we are looking for diecuts and/or stencils on your design.

One of my sons requested cash for his Christmas present because he was saving for a computer. I don't know why, but I don't really like giving cash for presents and I wanted to pretty it up when I gave it to him, so I made a gift envelope to put it in.

I began by stencilling some blue snowflakes onto white card using the Snowfall stencil from Honey Bee.

To make the envelope, I used The Greetery Stationery Box Die. I trimmed the sides of the box into an envelope shape and cut out a half-circle with one of the dies.

To enable the envelope to open without having to tear it, I made a large sentiment from the Spellbinders Stylish Merry Christmas die and tucked the flap behind it.

I'm sorry that the photos aren't good - it was a really dark day and I had to use flash which changed the colours. The snowflakes are brighter and the sentiment is a Christmas red irl!
