Penny Black Nature's Jewels Thinking of you card

 

Hello friends, and welcome back to a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More. This time we have our any-occasion theme, so you have lots of scope for joining in with us.

I came up with this simple design to keep in my stash for lots of occasions.

I stamped a Penny Black flower image from Nature's Jewels several times and then die cut it with a rectangular stitched die. I coloured the image with Copics, and placed a rectangle stencil over before inking lightly to give a background. I used the same ink around the edges of a mat and layered them onto a 5 by 7 notecard. To finish off, I stamped and die cut the sentiment and stacked it to give a little dimension.

I've been using the weather as an excuse to stay tucked up inside, but I feel very virtuous cos I have cleaned my craft room from top to bottom, and I'm seeing a clear desk for the first time in ages! I could do with a bit of a declutter too, but that will have to wait until my halo is feeling a bit tarnished.

Concord &9th Heartfelt Blossoms thinking of you card

Hello everyone, and welcome to the new challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.

For this card, I used my NBUS Concord & 9th stamp and die set called Heartfelt Blossoms, which I have overlooked for too long. I stamped the image and watercoloured the flowers, but used a fineliner to colour in the green frame. The die cuts out the centre to create a frame, and I stacked this a couple of times to give some dimension. The sentiment is also from the set. I first used a white background, but it looked rather stark, so I used my new Kristina Werner Splatter Texture Stamps in both colours to add some interest. I like how thinking of you cards can be used for several occasions, depending on what is put inside.

The bedroom is finally finished, and we're putting things back in there. We're having quite the tussle with me wanting to dispose of lots of 'stuff' and my husband wanting to hold onto everything!

Penny Black Nature's Jewels Thinking of you card

Hello everyone and welcome.The Make Your Mark Challenge is starting today at Addicted Stamps and More, so its time to pull out your paints, inks, markers or pencils and colour with whatever medium you like.

 

I inked a panel with some blue Distress Inks and then stamped some of the Penny Black Nature's Jewels stamps around the edges of the card. I coloured the flowers with Zig Clean Colour markers.

I stamped the sentiment in blue ink, offset it slightly, and stamped it again with grey ink to give it a slight shadow. I cut into the panel with the Arch Dies from The Greetery and layered up the centre panel on foam tape.

I've been having a rough week, so it's good to spend a bit of time in the craft room. I had a car accident some days ago when a car exited a side road, ignoring my right of way, and hit me in the side. Luckily nobody was badly hurt but I hit my head, suffered a mild concussion and was very shaken up by it all. My car was undrivable and I expect it will be written off, so I'll have to try and replace it. A hire car was delivered this morning but I admit to being very nervous behind the wheel right now. At least the other driver's insurance company has accepted full liability so my claim should go through smoothly.

Clearly Besotted Thinking of you card

Hello everyone and welcome to the next challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More. 

I'm back from my hols and finally got some time to spend in my craft room to make a card for our Make Your Mark Challenge.

I used the lily stamp from the Clearly Besotted Thinking of You stamp set and embossed it in black ink. I coloured initially with Copic markers and then added coloured pencil shading and added the dots with a brown fine liner pen. I kept the layout simple - I just cut the panel and scalloped rectangle with some dies from the MFT Blueprints sets.

This is one of those cards that can be useful for several occasions depending on what you stamp inside, so I think I'll keep it in my stash until I need a sympathy or get-well card.

The Greetery Leaves all Around many occasions card

 

Hello everyone - I hope you are well and happy! The weeks have passed very quickly and it is time to welcome you to another challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More.

This time we would love to see your creations using die cuts and stencils and I came up with this card. 

I'm so pleased that SevenHills Crafts now stocks products from The Greetery. I've loved Betsy Veldman's designs from way back when she began designing for Papertrey Ink and it's great to be able to get them over here now. I used my new  Leaves All Around die and the matching layered stencils to create this one and I loved using them. I really need to work on my colouring skills but the stencils make it so easy - I just used different shades of ink and then added a few veins with a coloured pencil. I made the berries into grapes for this card but they could be red ones for Christmas or could even be flower blossoms like wisteria etc. I cut the die several times so I could stack it to give dimension and it left the perfect space for the sentiment lovely from Hello Bluebird which can be used for many different occasions depending on what you stamp inside.

My Favorite Things Rainbow of Happiness encouragement card

Hello everyone and I hope you and your family are all doing well during this very strange time. I'm happy to report that we are fine and adjusting to the new shape of our day. Because we cannot just pop out to a shop at present, I have been very sure not to waste any food so I have been cooking and baking more than I would normally. Now I seldom bake these days so my skills are very rusty, but we had some carrots that needed using up and I decided to make a carrot cake. Everything went well until it came to making the cream cheese frosting. That frosting just wouldn't thicken even after being left for several hours in the fridge, so I had to go for it and pour it over the cake. The icing ran off the cake, down the sides and all over my worktop but my hubby wouldn't let me throw it away. He scraped it all up, put it in a jug, poured it like cream over his slice of cake and declared it to be the best carrot cake ever. I knew there was a reason I love that man!

We are starting a new challenge over at ATSM today and this time we have our Clean and Simple challenge for you.

On my daily walk, I have been so cheered by all the rainbow pictures that children have been putting in their windows, that I decided to use the theme for my card.

I used a rainbow die from My Favorite Things and cut the die using several colours of card so I could make 6 rainbows with the colours in a different order.

The sentiment is from the MFT Rainbow of Happiness stamp set and the clouds (which I glittered) came from a Sara's Signature set by Crafter's Companion.

I made several of these cards and plan to send them out to friends who need cheering up during our lockdown.

Art Impressions watering can thinking of you card

Hello everyone and welcome to Challenge #320 at Addicted to Stamps and more. This time it is out Photo Inspiration Challenge and we have this fabulous montage to get your creative juices flowing.

My eye was immediately drawn to the watering can picture so I came up with this card:-

I used a stamp set from Art Impressions and my Zig Real Brush markers. After stamping and colouring the watering can, I created a mask and then added the flowers and foliage by adding the colour directly to the stamps and spritzing water onto them before actually stamping the on the picture.

The sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers Thinking of You stamp set. 

Sadly, the Happy Little Stampers Store is closing down but you can still get some amazing bargains if you act soon.

MFT Harvest Mouse and Paper Smooches You're Special card

Hello everyone, and I hope you are all safe and well. I don't know about you but I have been thinking about all the people across the world who have suffered because of the dreadful weather events going on over the past few weeks. It seems Mother Nature is trying to teach us a lesson about climate change, and I hope the doubters are now going to show some common sense and allow legislation to limit the damage we are doing to the planet. On a nicer note, it's been great to see how many wonderful people have been willing to help, either with practical aid or with financial contributions.

As crafters, we are so lucky to have a creative hobby that can allow us to escape the harsh realities of life for a time, and I hope this week's challenge over at ATSM helps

This is Clean and Simple week and I came up with this card

1) Stamp and fussy cut the images from the My Favorite Things Harvest Mouse stamp set.

2) Colour the images with Polychromo pencils. ( This is my second attempt with them and I think I'm going to like them when I get a bit more practice.)

3) Die cut a scalloped panel from the MFT Blueprints 27, and stamp one of the shadow stamps from Paper Smooches Shadows towards the top of the panel.

4) Stamp the sentiment from Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler underneath the shadow.

5) Raise the panel onto the base card with fun foam and arrange the mice and apples on the shadow.

Creattive Expressions, Happy Little Stampers and Hero Arts thinking of you card

Hello everyone,

I hope you had a good Bank Holiday weekend because we have to wait until Christmas for the next one! To take your mind off that, we have a new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More, and this time we want you to Make Your Mark.

In case you are new to our challenges, here are the rules for this one

Make your Mark - your entry MUST contain the use of anything that can make a mark - Stampin' Write, Copics, Promarkers, Painting, Chalks, Watercolours, Sponges, Stencils, Masks etc etc

Well that leaves a lot of scope, and I came up with this card

1 )Die cut a stitched rectangle from some white card and stamp the Creative Expressions Heart and flowers stamp with Versafine black ink and emboss with clear powder.

2) Colour the image with Spectrum Noir Illustrator pens.

3) Stamp the Happy Little Stampers sentiment For Your Special Day at the top right of the heart in pink ink and the thinking of you sentiment towards the bottom of the panel in yellow ink

4) Wrap some twine around the panel and add a bow before matting the panel onto some pink card and raising it onto the base card with fun foam.

5) Finish off by adding glaze pen to all the little circles and putting a little pink gem onto the bow.

Papertrey Ink and Memory Box Thinking of you card

Hello everyone,

I've had a hard time creating a card since the refurb of my craft room because I haven't wanted to mess it it up lol! However, I bit the bullet for the PTI bloghop 

This time we were given this inspiration picture 

and I took inspiration from the muted orange colours and navy blue to come up with this card

I like to have at least one card in my stash that I can send out for a number of situations and this one will cover lots of occasions because I can personalise it by the sentiment I put on the inside.

I started by blending several orange inks on a panel of card and then stamped the silhouette flowers from the Life stamp set and added the sentiment from Iconic Images.

I die cut the panel, matted it with some navy card and then added it to an A2 card on foam tape over another die cut made with a Memory Box Ribbon die. I added some WOS glitter to the flowers but this isn't showing in the photo for some reason.

I'm dying to see how everyone else interpreted this picture!

Sue Wilson and Simon Says Stamp sending you card with metal elements

Hello and welcome to the new Mixed Media Challenge over at Happy Little Stampers. We have some fun for you this time if you are up for a challenge because we want you to use metal on your project. 

I came up with this card

I pulled out some 36 gauge Aluminium Tooling Foil from my stash and used the Sue Wilson Classic Adorned Squares dies to cut the decorative panel. The aluminium is quite thick so I ran the die through my cutter twice and it cut beautifully.

I wanted something to back the die cut with so I took some watercolour card and  used the smooshing technique and some distress markers to colour it 

The outer frame was debossed with another die from the set and I cut round the edge before placing it on the base card.

After I adhered the metal panel, I die cut the central black panel from some textured card and stamped and embossed the sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Sending and Wishing stamps. To finish things off, I die cut the 'Sending' from the leftover blue background card and white card, then stacked them so that the white card shadowed the blue.

Hibiscus trestle Thinking of you card

Hello everyone and welcome to another CASE the designer challenge at Happy Little Stampers,

 and this time we are lucky enough to be able to CASE this fabulous card from the lovely Melissa

I was bowled over by the drama of the black and white with the soft watercolouring on the texture paste flowers, and couldn't wait to have a play with these ideas to come up with this one layer card:-

I took a panel of black card and a stencil called Hibiscus Trestle from Glitzcraft, and applied some Sweet Poppy Glossy White Paste. This was the first time I used this paste, and after it had dried, I was surprised to find that it dried mat rather than glossy for some reason! I then took my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and watercoloured the flowers leaving the trellis areas white.

The sentiment from Happy Little Stampers Thinking of You stamp set was stamped and embossed with white detail embossing powder, and I just added a few pearls to finish it off. Thanks for the inspiration Melissa - I love this technique and I'm sure I will be trying it again before too long.
