Hobby Art Rocky Robin Christmas card

Hello everyone, and welcome to the final challenge of the year over at ABC Christmas Challenges. We are celebrating 10 years of the challenge and thanks go to Samantha and Helen who put in all the work behind the scenes.

Our themes for this month are

Z for Zigzag

and/or

Y for Yuletide

and our hostess is Samantha who has this lovely gift for the winner.

I came up with this card

I used a stamp from HobbyArt called Rocky Robin and used my Ziggies to watercolour him and the background. The panel was cut with MFT wonky rectangles.

The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn Winter Sparrows, and the embossed background used the Crafter's Companion party embossing folder. To make the zigzag strip I used a stamp from Paertrey Ink's Noted stamp set, and to finish off, I added some glitter to the snow on the log.

It's hard to believe that the year has whooshed by so fast! I hope you have enjoyed the themes we have brought you and that you now have a pleasing stack of cards to send out. Don't forget to join us in January for our 11th year and to make a start on Christmas 2021!!!

As always, you'll find some fabulous inspiration from my talented Teamies over on the ABC blog, so why not visit them and leave some festive cheer.

Clearly Besotted Merry Little Christmas Card

Hello everyone and welcome to the October challenge over at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge.

Our optional fun twist this time is 'twinkle' and I went with that to come up with this card.

I inked up some white card with Distress Oxide inks and added some water drops before cutting out the stars with the WPlus9 Starry Background die. I matted that onto silver mirror card and die cut the Christmas star from the same card.

The little deer is from the Clearly Besotted Merry Little Christmas stamp and die set, coloured with Copics, and the sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers. As a finishing touch, I added glossy accents to Rudolph's nose which has a pleasing dome to it, but it hasn't photographed well:-(

Happy Little Stampers Christmas card

Hello everyone, and welcome to another Christmas Card Challenge. This will be my last post for the challenge as my second term has come to an end and I have decided to step down :-(  Thank you Alanna and all the team for having me and I have really enjoyed my time with you, not to mention the fact that, for the first time, I have all my Christmas cards made before I hit the December busy time!

We had so many fabulous entries again last week and it really does get harder to select winners each time.

The theme this time is Anything Goes and I came up with this card:-

I took a panel of kraft card and used snowflakes from a variety of stamp sets to arrange and emboss in white, tumbling down the card. The merry Christmas sentiment is from the Happy Little Stampers Everyday Sentiments set which I embossed with sparkly Wow Primary Apple Red EP

I finished it off with some stripey ribbon and some gems, which I coloured with an alcohol pen, before fixing the panel to the base card with some foam tape.

Why not pop over to the Christmas Card Challenge Blog to see some inspiration from the team and join in this week.

My Favorite Things Moose Christmas card

Hello everyone and welcome to another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges where the theme this time is anything goes

I have been itching to use my goodies from the latest My Favorite Things release so I came up with this card:-

I used the delightful and cute Merry Christmas stamp set and stamped, coloured and fussy cut the moose and little stockings. The largest sentiment comes from the same stamp set but the Happy Hot Chocolate.... stamp came from Hug in a Mug.

I used a die cut frame from the wonderfully named Peek-a-boo Wonky Windows dies and sat the Moose on one corner looking longingly at the stockings that are hung above him. I hope Santa fills them with something nice because he assures me that he has been a good Moose all year long

The sentiments were embossed with white embossing powder and a little glitter on the stockings and a few scattered hearts finished it off.

Papertrey Ink and Clearly Besotted Snowglobe card

Hello everyone and welcome to another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges where we have another Anything Goes challenge for you.

I wanted to make a card for a child this time and used the Papertrey Ink Shaker Shape Snowglobe dies to come up with this shaker card,

and I used the Clearly Besotted Merry Little Christmas set to stamp, cut and colour the snowman to go inside the globe. The globe layers were cut with star printed acetate, white card for the base and top, and fun foam to give some dimension, and I added snowflakes, dots and sequins for the shaker elements. The snowy background of the globe gave me lots of blue dots left over, so I added them to the top of the card to resemble snowfall and gave them a coating of Wink of Stella glitter pen. To finish off I cut the globe stand in blue card and added the sentiments from CB Most Wonderful stamp set.

MFT Pure Innocence Christmas card

Hello everyone,

It's time for another Anything goes challenge over at Christmas Card Challenge

and I just had to use my new Pure Innocence Dashing By stamp to produce this card:-

I used the emboss resist technique for the background - stamping and embossing the snow flakes from PTI Snowfall in white, and then used several blue distress inks to create the sky. I stamped the sentiment on a PTI snowbank die cut and raised it on foam tape before attaching the cute sledging girl.

Christmas is edging closer and if you want to increase or start your pile of cards, then why not join in with us this time. You'll find lots of inspiration from the Design Team over at the Christmas Card Challenge blog.

Papertrey Ink and Happy Little Stampers Christmas card

Hello everyone,

I hope you are having a good weekend and have some time to relax and play. It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges and this time the theme is Anything Goes so you can let rip and design any kind of Christmas card you fancy.

I've been looking through the Christmas cards I have in my stash and found that quite a lot of them will have to be hand delivered because of the cost of posting them, so I decided to go CAS this week and have an almost flat card that will be post friendly.

I used a tree image from Papertrey Ink's new Market Mini Kit : Holiday Folk, which allows you to stamp the basic tree and then have fun decorating it with all the tiny ornaments that are included in the set. I added lots of these and then added a snow shadow underneath before dotting some glue around the tree and adding some glitter, which looks pretty IRL!  Why is glitter so hard to photograph?

I used a sentiment from the Happy Little Stampers Mixed Christmas Sentiments set which I stamped in two colours, and then cut a thin strip of stripey patterned paper, and a strip of red card to bring all the colours together. A little wooden star, which I coloured with an alcohol pen finished it off.

I hope you will hop over to the Christmas Card Challenges blog to see all the inspiration we have for you this time, and you have a whole week to have a play and link up your entry.

Papertrey Ink and Simon Says Stamp Christmas Card

Hello everyone and welcome to another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges

and this time the theme is anything goes. We had some wonderful entries last week and congratulations to the winner and top 3 - it really does get harder to choose the winners each week because so many more deserve to be showcased.

This week I chose to start with a Die (Phrase Play 8) from Papertrey Ink that has been in my stash for a while waiting to be used. I cut the die from some satin cream card and then backed it with some double sided adhesive film. I then added some Fine Iridescent Glitter and burnished it so that it doesn't shed too much.

The outer frame dies are from Simon Says Stamp and I cut these in the cream card and red card so I could layer them up. I finished up by adding the sentiment and some stars.

I hope you will stop by the Christmas Card Challenge blog to see all the inspiration from my talented Team Mates, and join in with us this week.

Clearly Besotted and Papertrey Ink Christmas card

Hello everyone and I hope you are having a great weekend, It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges and this time the theme is Anything Goes.

As this is the first thing I've made since I came back from holiday, I wanted to try a new technique. I've been attracted to all the foiling I've been seeing around blogland, but with no foil, laminator or Minc machine, I wasn't able to do that, so I searched my stash and found some NBUS gilding flakes that I decided to play with.

I had a Clearly Besotted swirly tree die cut which started out green, but after I added the gilding flakes it had a multicolorred golden sheen.

I die cut 'joy' with a Papertrey Ink die and gave it the same treatment, before adding them to a black panel cut with an MFT stitched rectangle die. I stamped and embossed the sentiment from Clearly Besotted in white and topped the tree with a white star.

To finish it off, I added a couple of mats to the panel along with a piece of card that I also gilded and placed across the base card.

I hope you will jump over to the Christmas Card Challenge blog today, to see the inspiration my Teamies have for you. Why not join in with us this time?

Hello everyone and welcome to another challenge at Christmas Card Challenges where the theme for this week is 'Anything Goes'

I made a CAS card from my Clearly Besotted NBUS  'Merry Little Christmas' stamp set

I stamped the cute robin and coloured him with Copics and added the greeting from a mix of stamps from Lawn Fawn and Papertrey Ink. I stamped and embossed some little stars in silver before adding a strip of patterned paper and mounting it onto the base card with some foam tape.

Non traditional coloured Christmas card

Hello everyone and welcome to our challenge over at Christmas card Challenge. The theme this week is anything goes so why not join in and have some fun

We had a challenge a few weeks ago that used a pastel colour palette and I so enjoyed playing with non traditional colours that I decided to try it again this week.

I used another unused tree stamp without a label that has been in my stash for years and stamped it twice using the Brilliance Twilight multicoloued pigment ink pad before embossing it with clear poweder. Sadly, this will be the only time I get to use this stamp because it had become brittle over time and tore as I was lifting it from my block. I hope this has taught me a lesson about not leaving stamps for years without using them :-(

I stamped and embossed the sentiment from PTI Think Big Favorites #8 using the same ink pad and then used gel glaze pens to add dots of colour to the trees and give them some texture. I cut the lilac panels from lilac shimmer card with the Simon Says Stamp Frames Craft Dies and layered the card up on the base card.

Papertrey Ink and Clearly Besotted snowflake Christmas card

Hello everyone and I hope you are having a good weekend. I won't be around for a while now because I am off on holiday to the US with my daughter. I'm quite excited about it but my husband is not coming with us this time and it will be the longest we have been apart in more than 40 years so it will seem a bit strange! I have lots of posts scheduled, but I probably won't be able to visit until I return. We are going to New York and down the Hudson Valley, so if you know of any good crafty stores or places to visit in that area, do let me know.

It's time for  a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges  where we have a lovely inspiration photo to inspire you with this week

I love the white on white look with the cookie peeping from underneath so my card for this week features white on white with a little kraft paper thrown in.

I started with a square panel that I stamped with a crackle background stamp in Versamark ink and then embossed with clear powder to add a little texture and shine to the background. I cut 6 snowflakes with the Clearly Besotted die and stacked them before coating them with some glitter and mounting them to some punched circles.

The circles were placed on a strip of kraft card and added to the background panel. The sentiment was cut with the PTI Wet Paint Holiday Die and I cut them twice from white and once from kraft card and stacked them so the kraft gave a shadow effect.

Why not look at the Christmas Card Challenge blog to see some great inspiration from our team, and then join in with us. If this theme doesn't float your boat, remember that you can enter any kind of Christmas card!

Papertrey Ink and Paper Smooches Christmas card

Hi there,

We are ready for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenge and this time anything goes

I decided to mix it up and have a good play with several sets of stamps and came up with this card

I started off with white card and stamped a random selection of different sized spots with aqua mist ink. I then over-stamped these with a variety of stamps from different sets (PS A Blessed Christmas, Papertrey Ink Snowfall etc) in teal ink, before adding some glitter with a glue pen. I die cut a stitched rectangle and matted it onto teal card before placing it on the base card with foam tape. I tied the sentiment together by cutting a PTI Photo finisher die, stamping 'Christmas' on it, and topping it with the die cut 'Merry' with the Santa  hat which was cut with a Sizzix die.
