Lawn Fawn Scalloped Treat box - new home gift

Hello everyone and welcome to another challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More .

We have been having some much welcome sunshine in my little corner of the world and my favourite magnolia tree is just about to bloom. This magnificent tree flowers beautifully for up to a couple of weeks and then nearly always gets hit by a late frost and winds that strip the flowers. It never says 'I'm fed up with this, I don't think I'll bother flowering this year', but just plods on regardless and brings such pleasure to all who pass by, certain that the brief beauty it brings makes it all worthwhile. Deep eh?

Anyway ... we have our die cuts and stencil theme this time and I used both in my little creation:-

I made a combined card/gift card holder for some friends who recently moved house. I used the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Treat box and after I had die cut it, I stenciled the bricks on to create the walls.

Once I had assembled the box, I used a variety of die sets to cut the trees, bushes and fence. The finishing touch was the tag which I stamped with a Papertrey Ink sentiment.

As always, you'll find lots of inspiration over on the ATSM blog, and you can link up your entry over there.

I'd like to play along at

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs
Carol x

So creative and thoughtful and a fabulous idea as a gift card holder for your friends, who have recently moved. Love the colours, the stencilling with the bricks, the trees and fencing and those quirky windows x. Mixed weather my end but Spring is definitely on the way Carol x.

That is such a beautiful gift box and such a brillant idea, Carol ! I particularly love the colours you chose for the door, roof and window. Would love to have such colours for my house ! Our magnolia still needs at least a fortnight to be in full bloom, unless the wonderful weather we have at the moment helps. Our daffodils are almost withered but luckily the tulips will be in full blooms these coming days, I love Spring ! Hugs x

That is what happens to the magnolia trees here in the north of the States, they do much better in the south. But people have grown them here in the North and they can be so beautiful after the flowers have bloomed, but like you say, it is usually short lived before either the wind or the frost gets them. I always pick some flowers when I go south at my aunt's house if it is during the blooming time. I am also a little jealous that you have a magnolia tree, wish I had one in my yard. lol Your little house box is simply adorable and perfect for someone who moved to a new home! I love that you have a gift and gift card with this box. The color combo, the stenciling, etc...is so darn cute! I'm sure the recipients will cherish this little gift box for a long time to come! Hugs, Brenda
