PTI Blog hop

Hello everyone,

I hope you have had a good weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead. I really wanted to take part in the PTI Stamp-a-faire event on Saturday but we we had tickets for the Tatton Flower Show so I was unable to get inky or look at the great samples the team produced. I did however get our order in and so have some lovely goodies to look forward to.

Today is the PTI Blog Hop and the challenge this time was to use this photo as inspiration for a project

Isn't it gorgeous with all those rich colours and pretty patterns, and I've always wanted a window seat! I decided to take my inspiration from the butterfly cushion and the colours which I interpreted as Orange Zest, Ocean Tides and Aqua Mist. I didn't get time to join in the Make it Monday challenge last week to use a dry brushing technique with paint so I wanted to have a try with it on this card. I used a variety of flower stamps and stamped them in Fresh Snow onto Ocean Tides card stock and then dry brushed white acrylic paint around the edges. I layered this onto orange zest card with a strip of orange zest twill, and stitched around the edge to resemble a square cushion.

For the central panel, I cut a mat stack die out of Aqua Mist and used stamps from Round and Round to build up the circle and butterflies. I couldn't resist adding another little tag from Teeny Tags to finish the panel off and I found a little brad that was an exact colour match!

I used a best wishes sentiment because I can then personalise the inside of the card with birthday or get well greetings. I'll stop there so that you can move on to all the other entries. Happy hopping and thanks for looking in.

Hugs
Carol x

I love how you used the butterflies - one of my favorite accents to use.

Like the above commenters, the soft colors work so well together - beautiful piece.
