Today I decided to make something for the Waltzing Mouse sketch challenge which this week is a simple tag shape.
As this required a simple design, I decided to bite the bullet and try my hand at distressing. I don't know about you, but I see so many wonderful examples of shabby chic and distressed cards, but when I sit to make one, I always end up with a dirty looking mess. First of all I made the tag using the Eat Cake stamps. I silver embossed the cake plate and distressed the tag before matting it onto some pink paper.
I thought this might look better on a card so I made a couple of mats and mounted it, distressing the edges with Antique Linen distress ink. And ......
Thanks for looking.
I ended up with a dirty looking card again. My inking with brighter coloured ink is not too bad and I really try to blend the ink well but something is not right. Oh well its done now and maybe I should just try and accept that shabby chic and distressing are not for me!
We're going of to Lake District tomorrow for a few days, so I hope this nice warm weather holds for just a little longer.
Thanks for looking.
Hugs

Oh gorgeous use of that Eat Cake stamp set! These projects are both so divine in hot PINK! Awesome job!
I think this is just lovely - I really like the cake tag with the little tag attached. And the colours are super. Wonderful!
Hope you have a great time at the Lakes.
Love the cake on the round element, great use of colour too, thanks for playing along with the Mischief Makers this week!
It's lovely! Love the colors you chose!
P.S. Doesn't look dirty to me:) Distressing is hard for me too!
