Papertrey Ink and Perfect Pearls Christmas Tree card

Hello everyone and welcome to another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges.

Our theme this time is the ever popular Anything Goes, and I came up with this card.

I used a triangle card base and then cut a triangle of black card just a little smaller than the base card. I stamped the circle tree from Papertrey Ink's Tree Trimming Trio with Versamark Ink and then brushed on some Ranger Perfect Pearls in Kiwi, before fixing it with a little hairspray. I stamped little baubles onto some card with Scarlet Jewel ink and then cut them out with a circle punch to add to the tree before finishing it off with a bow on the top from PTI Merry Kiss-Mass. I love how Perfect Pearl colours look different depending on which way you look at them. This one has a kind of gold tint when looked at from this angle.

Papertrey Ink Thank you card

Hello everyone,

Well the month has whizzed by and it is time for another blog hop over at Papertrey Ink.
Blog-hop-logo

This time Nichole gave us this inspiration photo

Blog hop inspiration

I took inspiration from the cream and burgundy colours, the distressed feel and the butterflies to come up with this card

I used the You've Been Framed oval dies and stamps and a distress background stamp, along with some die cut butterflies which I coloured with scarlet jewel ink.The 'thank you die was cut twice and slightly offset to give a shadowed look.

I'm afraid it's short and sweet today because I am out singing with the choir at the Buxton Festival, but I hope to catch up with what everyone has come up with tomorrow.

Enjoy the hop.

Clearly Besotted Thank You card

 Hello everyone,

Just a quick post today to share a CAS thank you card I made for some friends who gave us the most wonderful summer afternoon tea last week with lots of sandwiches, scones, cakes, strawberries and clotted cream. Yummy in the extreme but I had to climb back onto my diet the next day.

I used a gingham stamp from PTI Bitty Backgrounds, stamped in green, and I then used the cupcake and strawberry  from the Clearly Besotted Sweet Treats stamp and die set ( I was staggered to find that this stamp set has been retired before I even inked it up!) I coated the icing with some WOS to give it a frosting look but it has not really shown up on the photo.

For the sentiment I took the 'thank you' from Mama Elephant Bear Hugs and the 'berry much' from PTI Punny Sentiments, and finished the card off with a little red heart.

I'd like to slip this into the Casology Cupcake challenge before it closes today

Christmas Card Challenge Penguin card

Hello everyone and welcome to another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges where we have a penguin photo challenge theme going

I came up with this card

Straight up I have to 'fess up that the stamp set I used has been in my stash for years without being used and that I have lost the packaging for it so I don't even know where it is from! Well I started by making masks for both penguins and for a snowbank. I stamped the baby penguin first and then applied the mask before stamping the Papa penguin about halfway across it. I then applied the Papa penguin mask and the snowbank mask before stamping and clear embossing the MFT Snowfall background stamp. I inked over the background with 3 colours of distress ink and then removed all the masks and let it dry. I was pleased with how the baby was now cuddled into Papa, and I then cut a stitched rectangle from the panel so I could pop it up on foam pads and add it back in a kind of spotlight technique. To finish it off, I restamped the baby penguin and cut out his little hands and sign to give it a little more dimension, and I then added some glitter to Papa's hat and scarf, and along the snowline.

WPlus9 Unforgettable New Grandparent card

Hello everyone,

Welcome to another challenge over at Simply Create Too

Simply Create Too

where our theme for this time is 'for a precious child'.

Some close friends have just had their first grandchild and I am thrilled to little mint balls for them so I created this card:-

I made the mats with Lil'Inker stitched square dies and stamped little hearts on the pale pink layer with sweet blush ink. The cute elephant and balloon are from the WPlus 9 Unforgettable set and they were coloured with Copic markers and a coat of WOS glitter on the balloon. I finally tried out my Silhouette Cameo sketch pens for the 'to the proud Grandparents' sentiment  and finished it off with a Congratulations die cut from Paper Smooches, but I dotted the i with a little heart instead of the dot. Don't you just love it when you can mix and match all your supplies? I forgot to take a photo, but I decorated the envelope with the SSS Envelope sentiments and you can just see part of it behind the card.

Why not pop over to the Simply Create Too blog to see some more inspiration from the team, and join in with us this time. We have been getting lots of gorgeous entries and we love looking at your entries.

Lawn Fawn Happy Wedding card

Hello everyone, and I hope you are having a good weekend. My daughter and I have been planning the  itinerary for our holiday to America next month but I found time to make a wedding card using the cute Happy Wedding stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I've been wanting to join in the Lawnscaping challenge for ages and this time the theme is 'sparkle and shine', so I thought this was the ideal opportunity to play along.

I used the MFT Blueprints 23 set to cut the circle  apertures in the stitched rectangle panel and embossed the sentiment and dotted heart in silver powder. I made masks for each of the the sweet little figures  and applied them after stamping so I could add the chalked background with Pan Pastels. I used Copic markers to add some colour and shadows to the figures and then used WOS to add some sparkle to the flowers in the Bride's hair. I cut the scalloped border out of pink glitter card and raised the whole panel on foam tape to add some dimension. To finish it off I drew a plus and equals sign with a Copic Multiliner pen. This photo doesn't show the sparkle but you can see it a bit better in this one

Lily of the Valley tennis birthday card

Hello everyone and I hope you are enjoying your week. Rain has stopped play for a while at Wimbledon, so I've just popped on to share a quick post of a card I made for my tennis loving daughter. Actually, we both love tennis but she is a player whilst I prefer watching these days. I've never actually been to Wimbledon ( the highlight of my  summer), even though we have entered the ballot for tickets many times, and it seems crazy to me that it is easier to get tickets for the American Open Championship than get to see our own. We have finally given up and my daughter and I will be combining a holiday to the USA with a trip to the US Open Tennis Tournament next month, and I'm starting to get very excited about it! I love tennis because it is something I used to watch with my Mum  when I was a child, and we would play in our local park. Of course we used to have a wooden racquet then and we we kept it in a press to stop the wood warping - but that is probably telling you too much about how old I am so I'll skip over that!

Here is the card:-)

I used a LOTV image and coloured with Copics, and watercoloured with distress inks. My daughter is a pale redhead (she prefers strawberry blonde!) and she looked just like this when she was younger.

I'd like to enter this into

Simply Besotted 'Most Wonderful' Masculine Christmas card

Hello everyone, and welcome to another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges where we have a very non traditional colour scheme for you

I must confess to being very challenged with this colour line up for a Christmas card, but then I realised that this is one of my favorite colour schemes for masculine cards and we have  some male only households that we send Christmas cards too, so I came up with this card:-

The sentiment came from the 'Most Wonderful' stamp set from Clearly Besotted and I stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black ink and then clear embossed it onto some dotted vellum, before die cutting it with a fishtail die from MFT Blueprints 24. I stuck this to another die cut from the same set and layered it up onto a pale grey card base. I cut the trees with a PTI die and added them to the bottom of the panel and added a couple of strips of black card to help the panel pop. I finished it off with a border of dashed lines and a tiny red star which is coated with WOS glitter and glossy accents.

Why not pop over to the Christmas Card Challenge Blog and see what my team mates have to show you, and join in with us this week. Remember that it is not necessary to follow our theme and you can enter any kind of Christmas card into the challenge. The challenge will be running for two weeks this time so you will have lots of time to play.

Penny Black Christmas tree card

Hello everyone,

I'm really excited to be part of the new monthly Christmas challenge over at Happy Little Stampers. Our first challenge has the cue word Tree for inspiration

and I decided to challenge myself for this first one by making a one layer card - yes I voluntarily made a one layer card!

I started by masking off a square, a moon and a snowbank before stamping the Penny Black Christmas tree several times in Versamark Ink and embossing with clear embossing powder to provide a resist. I then inked the sky with Distress Inks and stamped various trees in the background. When everything was dry, I embossed the greeting (from Clearly Besotted) in white and used the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil and Aleene's Glitter Snow texture paste to add a little texture. To finish it off, I added glitter to the snowbank, used a pen to draw a square and then added some dashes and dots for a second border.

Why not pop over to the Happy Little Stampers blog to see what my talented Teamies have to show you, and support us for our first ever Christmas challenge. You know it will be good to either start or add to your Christmas card collection so December will be fun this year!

My Favorite Things and Paper Smooches new baby card

Hello everyone,

I've been collecting and using goodies from My Favorite Things for ages but I've never actually joined in with any of their challenges. In order to rectify that, I decided to play along with the current colour challenge, using these colours

I think I mentioned that I'm needing lots of new baby cards at the moment so I thought these soft colours would make a nice one :-

I started by die cutting a stitched rectangle with a die from MFT Blueprints 24 and I stamped it with the Cheesecloth background stamp. I stamped the sentiment before embossing the whole thing with a cute little star E/F from Cuttlebug. Next I die cut the bows in the various colours and also cut a couple of strips of blue paper to anchor the die cut sentiment. I cut the sentiment (from Paper Smooches) twice and stacked it so the bottom colour shows through.

It is a really hot day here today and so I think I will be staying indoors in my cool craft room. That's my excuse anyway!
