Craft Concept Butterfly Kisses embossed get well card

Hi there and welcome to the new Simply Create Too Challenge.

Our challenge for this month is to use wet and/or dry embossing and I used both on this card.

I used a very old embossing folder from Craft Concepts called Butterfly Kisses and I inked up one side with a couple of blue inks using a brayer, before adding some white card and passing it through the machine. This isn't a 3D embossing folder so you don't get such a deep emboss, but I was quite pleased with how it turned out.

I cut a couple of thin strips of navy card to frame the image and added a half banner from an MFT Blueprints set, on which I stamped and embossed the sentiment in white.

If you're like me, I bet you have several embossing folders tucked away that are calling to be pulled out and used, so why not join in with us this time?

I'd like to play along at

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs

What a beautiful card Carol! I am so loving that embossing folder you used. I was told another blogger that I need to remember to do this technique as it gives such a great look. I love how it looks like your butterflies are popping right off the card! A beautiful get well card indeed. The darker blue strips just make them pop even more. Love it! Hugs, Brenda

Serene, deeply lovely greeting. It has such a tranquil air about it that could not be better suited to times of ill health, when moments of calm are worth their weight in gold.

Yup, I do! In fact, I have one very similar to this beauty, Carol! I love those cascading butterflies and how you colored your folder by braying on the ink. I also love the addition of the navy strips to stop the eyes from drifting off the edge with the butterflies! I hope you are all still keeping well! Hugs, Darnell

So delicate and pretty, Carol ... the soft, subtle blue inks really emphasise the depth of the embossing ... what a lovely, touchable kaleidoscope of butterflies ... and a fabulous contrast with the navy! Hugs, Anita :)

It might be an oldie but it's a goodie! Love the way the butterflies appear to be flying out from the card.
Hope you had a great Mother's day too. I had a long soak in the bath after a long phone call from the youngest and a cool afternoon on Facetime with the eldest and her eldest discussing his family history project for school. :)
