My Favorite Things and Clearly Besotted Christmas card

Good morning everyone!

Welcome to the ABC Chrismas Challenge and thank you to everyone that played along last month. We had some wonderful entries and it was very difficult to select winners, but you can check if you were one of the lucky ones over on the ABC Christmas Challenges blog.

This time we have two letters to choose from:

L  for Leap

and/or

M – Mouse

Our sponsor this time is

and for the June Challenge, one lucky entrant will win
Festive Florals 6x6 Paper Pack and a Teddy Baubles Clear Stamp

There will also be a little prize from Helen who is our Hostess this month.

I decided to go with the mouse theme and came up with this card. I stretched my supplies by using a non-Christmas stamp set call Harvest Mouse from My Favorite Things.

1) Prepare the background with some card and patterned paper to resemble a sitting room wall.

2) Stamp colour and die cut the rug from MFT Merry Christmoose and place it on the card.

3) Stamp, colour and die cut the Christmas tree from Clearly Besotted Merry Little Christmas set, curve it around a little bottle, and then build up some silicone glue behind it to maintain the dimension. Place it on the rug.

4) Stamp, colour and fussy cut the harvest mice. To get two of the mice facing each other, I stamped one the normal way and then stamped it again onto the back of a larger stamp and used that to stamp again, getting the image in reverse. To them a bit Christmassy, I stamped a little snowflake on one of the jumpers and placed tiny gifts, coated with glaze pen, in their hands. The original stamp has the mouse holding an apple, and I left that in place but cut a tiny slit behind the fingers, so I could slip in the gift and hide the apple. Place the mice on either side of the tree.

5) Die cut one of the Frames dies from Penny Black and hang it on the wall. Stamp the picture part with the greeting from Happy Little Stampers Mixed Christmas Sentiments, and finish off by adding a couple of little holly sprigs to the corners using some Nuvo drops for the berries.

Why not have a look through your stash to see a stamp that could be adapted for Christmas? You'll get lots of inspiration over on the ABC Christmas Challenge blog, and it would be great if you joined in with us this time.

Oh my goodness...what total cuteness. Loved reading how you've combined elements from the different sets (and I think I have the Christmoose one) and turned non-Christmas items into something so festive and appealing. Love the color and those little mices are just adorable. TFS & Hugs
