Papertrey Ink and Inkylicious Galaxy graduation/ celebration card

Hello everyone and welcome to another challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More. This time we have a wonderful set of photos to inspire you and I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I came up with this galaxy card which uses a favourite ink blending technique

I created the galaxy background using a variety of colours of distress oxide inks and spattered some water over it. Once it was dry, I used a circle stencil and sponged white pigment ink through to create the moon. I had to do this a few times to cover up the dark background but leave some colour showing so it didn't look too stark.

Once the moon was dry, I stamped an Inkylicious moon stamp over the top with blue ink. A white embossed Papertrey Ink sentiment and some paint spatters finished it off. I thought this would be a good masculine or unisex card and I can personalise the occasion by adding a congratulations/graduation/new job greeting on the inside.

I hope you will drop by the ATSM blog to see some great inspiration from my team buddies and you can link up your entry to the gallery over there.

Hi Carol, I love your galaxy creation, the colour mix and blending is so effective. As for the moon, wow - I actually thought it was a stamp at first. The sentiment stands out crisply on top of the background. Thankyou so much for sharing this technique with us at A Place to Start. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Tina Maree DT
