Papertrey Ink and Inkylicious Christmas cards

Hello friends,

Sorry I've been MIA, but my crafty mojo is playing hide and seek and I haven't felt like blogging either. Is it just me that is feeling a bit blah lately?

I'm hoping to change that with a great new challenge over at

Our host this month is the lovely Julie and our themes are

U - Up in the Air
and
-Vixen (Other Reindeer are ok too)

Julie has a prize for the lucky winner!

I came up with these cards

U for Up in the Air

I decided to try a slimline card and masked off a small moon before inking the background with a variety of blue inks. Once it was dry, I stencilled through a snow stencil with Versamark ink and heat embossed some white E/P. After I removed the moon mask, I stamped Santa and his sleigh with black ink so he is flying up into the sky. I hand cut a snowbank and stuck it to the bottom of the card before cutting with a stitched rectangle. The little trees are from the Lawn Fawn Home For the Holidays set and the sentiment is from Penny Black Wonder Collection.

My second card is V for Vixen

I stamped the reindeer names from PTI Dash Away All in red ink on white card and adhered it on some kraft card before cutting it with a stitched circle die. I then stamped and die cut the reindeer in 3 slightly different shades of brown ink. When I placed the deer on the circle, it all looked a bit disjointed so I found some stitched red card in my bits box and added that to the centre to add some definition. The background red card was embossed with a snow embossing folder and I finished off by adding a spot of red Nuvo drops to the reindeer noses.

You'll find lots of inspiration from the team over on our blog and you can enter your cards in the gallery over there. We had some fabulous entries last month and if you'd like to see if you're a winner, head on over to the winner's post.

I'm sure that this blah period will pass and I know that making these cards helped so I'm resolved to spend a bit more time in my craft room and recover my pesky mojo.

I'd like to play along at

Thanks for stopping by and stay safe.

Hugs
Carol xx

Two lovely cards Carol...I like them both but probably favour the first one...magical. You are not the only one with no mojo and feeling blah...trust me and it seems your mojo is sneeking back into the limelight again. Stay safe xx

OH! My goodness Carol, your cards are very beautiful. I Love the Santa card, so many lovely details, I love the background, the snow hill, the trees and with Santa flying into the moon. Your vixen card is so pretty and clever with the reindeer names and the reindeer with the embossed background. I think considering you had a "Blah" time you've done really well. I hope you come or have come out of the lack of mojo, it looks like you have LOL.
Keep safe
Faith x.

You're not alone, my friend, although I thought it was more of a US thing with all the stress of politics on top of Covid. I worry, though, because I find the longer one steps away from cards and blogging, the easier it is to just stay away and I hate to see that happen with any of us. I'm really hopeful that the new year will bring positivity and creativity back into the forefront of our days. In the meantime, ahem, I have to say you do really well without your mojo juices flowing! These cards are beautiful, Carol! Beautiful designs, beautifully executed!! Take care! Hugs, Darnell

Mojo is back and both cards are fabulous x. The slimline first one lends itself to Santa flying high and 'up' in the air x. Wonderful colour combination and design on the second x.

I know for me, the end of summer is a big contributor to my pandemic blahs! I'd these two cards have your crafting mojo back on track, though. Now I'm going to have to try a slimline card with my Santa sleigh stamp! Yours is perfect. And the reindeer card is fabulous too. Lots of inspiration!

Carol, both your Christmas cards are gorgeous! I know exactly what you mean about mojo going missing, sometimes it's hard to get enthusiastic these days. But things will get better! Thanks for joining in at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge!
