Hello everyone! It's time for another challenge over at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge, and this time our theme is
I love holly and always try to have some in the house around Christmas time. It is perfectly behaved in that it lasts for a good long time in water but starts to look bad soon after Christmas so you don't feel bad throwing it away. Unlike the poinsettia plant we had last year which outstayed it's welcome by hanging around until after Easter, when my husband finally agreed that it could go in his greenhouse without snuffing it, and I could get some spring flowers in! I came up with this card
I stamped the holly from Penny Black 'A Wish for Peace' transparent stamp set and coloured it with Copic pens. I coated the leaves with WOS glitter pen but it is hard to see in the photo.
The sentiment was stamped in scarlet jewel ink and is from PTI Over Under Easy Holiday Additions, and as I wanted to keep the design very simple, I just cut the panel with the curved die from MFT Blueprints 14, and matted it onto some scarlet jewel card cut with the stitched square from the same set.
This was mounted onto a white card base with foam tape and finished off with a scattering of green glitter dots.
Why not pop over to the Happy Little Stampers blog to see the inspiration that the Design Team have for you, and join in with us this month.
Thanks for stopping by
Hugs

Fabulous card Carol, love the sentiment. Carol x
I'm with you, Carol - give me holly anyday over a poinsettia (though I do like making poinsettia cards!). I love your card - I bet it's really sparkly in real life with the Wink of Stella. Great rich colours! And a wonderful sentiment.
I really like the design of the Penny Black. Your card is beautiful, there is the brilliance and holly, or anything that resembles a Christmas.

Lovely card and sentiment!
Oh Carol!! This is so pretty!! I love the pretty holly "draped" down the left hand side of the card like that. I also like how you only rounded one corner of the white panel. Wonderful design. I actually think I might try this challenge!!
Gorgeous design and colours Carol. LOVE the shimmer and shine of your pretty sprig of holly. And love the deep red you've used on this card. xx
So pretty, Carol! I love that dainty holly and the sentiment together!

It's great to see you back, Carol! (Are you back?) I hope you had a great time!! I love your holly inspiration card! The design is awesome, especially with that corner treatment!! Hugs, Darnell
Can't miss with a PBlack image, and this one is a winner. Your coloring is wonderful, and the WoS does show up nicely in the enlarged photo. Liked the rounded corner treatment, and the dark richness of the stitched card mat against the white base. It's a beautiful card, and great in the Holly challenge. TFS
Love your card, and yes, we can see the WOS glitter shining in your card!
Love the clean and simple design.
Lovely card, your sentiment is fab, and your glitter is shinning xx
