Penny Black, W Plus 9 and Happy Little Stampers foiled card

Hello everyone and welcome to the latest Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media challenge. This time our theme is 'shine'

I have been wanting to try some foiling for a long time but haven't yet taken the plunge into buying a Minc machine or laminator, so I had to go along the route of glue and transfer foil to come up  with this card

I started off by cutting two squares from some beige designer paper, and I stamped the smaller one with the Impression Obsession Cover a Card: Scratches stamp in a toning ink. Next, I put some double sided adhesive on some card, removed the release paper, applied some Decofoil gold transfer sheet and burnished it down with my bone folder. The foil adheres quite well using this technique but it gives a distressed look rather than the super smooth results you get with the Minc machine. I cut this foiled card with the Penny Black Diamond Border die, and with the WPlus9 Shine word die. For some reason, parts of the foil came off when I cut the word die but I added some two way glue to the bald bits, burnished on some more foil and you really couldn't see the joins.

I stuck down the diamond border, stamped the 'you' from Happy Little Stampers Bold Birthday Sentiments, and then glued the 'shine' underneath it. I cut a few diamond shapes with another part of the PB die, coated them with glue and when they were dry I added some gold Perfect Pearls for a more subtle shine. I layered up the panels with some gold textured card and some foam tape to finish it off.

I can't wait to see how you interpret the 'shine' theme this month but if you want some more inspiration before you dive in, why not pop over to the Happy Little Stampers Blog to see what our amazing team has to show you. We have the wonderful KalySto joining us as Guest Designer this month and you will definitely want to see her fabulous contribution to the challenge.

This is beautiful, and I love the look of the 'distressing' on the foil. You've done a super job with the products you used, and FWIW, I have the Minc, and what you've done gives just as nice a look. (and while I love to enable, I'd say stick with the way you did this. My Minc efforts were no smoother than what you've done here). Another good way is to use the Nuvo glue on the stamp, then foil. That works nicely too. Love the IO CAC stamping...so much texture. Love those stamps!! This is a pretty design, and TFS
