Papertrey Ink Celebrate Today card

Hello and welcome. I'm still shocked and very saddened by the results of our referendum here in the UK, and trying hard to accept that in a democracy we have to abide by the decisions of the majority, albeit a very small majority! So, in the way we crafters have of dealing with an unpleasant reality, I took my mind off it by disappearing into the craft room to create a card for today's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.

This time Nichole gave us this inspiration photo

June blog hop

and I was inspired by the layered flowers and colours to come up with this card:-

I pulled out the Color Pop Florals set and used one of the stencils and ink to make the flower backgrounds before cutting them out with the accompanying dies. I then stamped and embossed the flower centres and arranged them on the card with some leaves cut with MFT dies.

The sentiment was cut three times and I blended inks on the top one before stacking them to add a bit of dimension. A few flower sequins finished it off.

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

I'd like to play along with

The Alphabet Challenge - ink it up

If You Give a Crafter a Cookie challenge - I was inspired by the flowers

Stampin Royalty - make a project with dies.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs
Carol x

  6. This is a beautiful and soft card design. The layered flowers are fantabulous! So luscious and reminds me of cotton candy. Awesome sauce colors on the sentiment. So glad you were able to get away for a minute and create during this tumultuous time in the UK. Hopefully there will be a re-vote. ~Niki
