Papertrey Ink birthday card

Hello everyone and welcome to Lynn and Melissa who are new followers this week. I really appreciate everyone who follows and visits or leaves sweet comments, it is so good to know I am not just blogging to myself!

I am having a very busy weekend with friends here for dinner last night, out at some other friends tonight and then helping at an open garden event tomorrow, so I was determined to take some time this afternoon to make a quick card for  the Less is More challenge. This week we were asked to make a single layer card and to use a flourish on it with the minimum of embellishment. I was kidding myself to think it would be quick! One layer cards are so hard for me and I had lots of spoiled efforts head their way to the recycling bin before I managed an unsmudged version.

I stamped the leafy flourish from Papertrey Ink in spring moss ink and then added the roses and sentiment in red poppy. It is difficult to see in the picture but I embossed all the red elements to give a little more interest to the single layer.

I so wanted to layer this image up and add some ribbon but I followed the rules and walked away from the table!

Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend.

Hugs
Carol x

This is absolutely perfect. I'm glad you stopped when you did. I love all the white space you left, the pretty green leaves, and just the pops of red. Hope you are having a great day.
