Papertrey Ink hexagon card

Hello everyone and a warm welcome to Barbara, Cumbrianlass and Viv who are new followers this week. I can't believe 100 people are now kind enough to follow my little blog from cold, wet Manchester! Anyway today is the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop so we get to visit talented card makers and get lots of inspiration!

The task this time was to use this inspiration picture

I love these colours and wanted to make a hexagon cushion card using the gorgeous new hexagon plate from PTI.  Sadly, because of the very expensive shipping costs to the UK, my order buddy and I cannot get supplies every month so I'll have to wait for it. In the end I turned to my Silhouette Cameo and was able to use one of the files to cut some little hexagons and then use existing supplies to make the card:-

I used to have a hexagon shaped patchwork cushion just like this in a different colour. I used a scroll stamp from Vintage Labels and fixed a pretty flower in the centre. The sentiment came from Botanical Silhouettes. Some AM twill ribbon was stitched across the centre of the card. On the first attempt, I tried pleating the ribbon but it made the card too busy so I went for the plain look.

Thanks for looking and enjoy the hop!

Hugs
Carol x

Very pretty Carol. Love your idea to use the hexagons. Hope mine come today. Love the little scrolls in the center, I used almost the same. Love the HB stamp too.

Stunning card Carol. Love the colours and the hexagons. I have spellbinders octagons so I might have a go at something like this!

Love your card, Carol. Super hexagon patchwork. Isn't the Cameo wonderful? Like you, I've used my Cameo to design things when I couldn't get my hands on the original x

This is terrific, and who needs that old Papertrey die, anyway, right? You did such a nice job with your hexagons. I'm kidding about that die. I just got it, and it is just the most fun, so I hope you can get your hands on one soon. If you need, I would be happy to be your shipping buddy anytime. I do it for quite a few of my international friends. a box of stamps and dies usually runs about 10-12 dollars in shipping, US to UK.

Carol, I love the hexagon shape you made. Reminds me of old quilts. I never guessed you didn't use the happy hexagon until I read your blog. Great card!

Great use of those hexagons! I'm waiting for the die to come back into stock, and then I'll wait for the long postage to Australia, but that just adds to the anticipation, right? ;-)
