Father's Day card

Wow, I go missing for ages and then do 2 posts in one day! Today is Day 5 of the class and we were asked to select a sketch and use brown, blue and 2 shades of green on a card and this is what I came up with.

The front of the card is cut down and the brown stripey paper is on the back and you can see that a bit better on this photo

This is a very simple design and I liked the clean lines but we were asked to use 2 shades of green and I wasn't sure that the 'rock n roll' leaf would count so I tried adding another strip of patterned paper to the front:-

Hmm - I'n not sure about this - what do you think? I think I prefer the first one.

Thank for stopping by.

Hugs

This is fabulous!! I LOVE how you cut some of the front off and had the pp peek out from inside the card. Great take on the sketch!!

I like the first card. As one of my favorite bloggers, Lindsay Weirich, says, "There are no stamping police that will come to your door to tell you that you did it wrong." So if you say the rock and roll leaf counts, it does!

These are both wonderful. I guess I like the 1st better, as it is a bit simpler, but I'd be tickled to receive either one, and so would your friends, I'm sure.

They are both lovely Carol, but the first is my fav! To answer your question on my blog, Silhouette Stencil Vinyl is slighter thicker,I think with a repositional adhesive on the back, so you can lift it easily from your project and use it over and over, if you store it on the sheet it comes with.
