Gingerbread house gift bag

Hello everyone,

I hope you had a good weekend and are easing gently into the new week. There is a decided chill in the air around here as winter arrives but it is nice to get wrapped up in winter woollies again and feel all cosy at home.

Today is Blog Hop day at Papertrey ink and this time Nichole asked us to make a miniature holiday house. When I think of Christmas houses, I always think of a gingerbread house so I hope this counts for the blog hop.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut a file from the Silhouette store and decorated it with some ribbon and stamps and die cuts from the Believe set

I was tempted to go over the top and decorate it with snow, glitter and candy canes etc but I decided to keep it simple so bits don't fall off when it is used, because it is actually a little gift box too!

There is room in the base for some chocolates or a small gift and then flaps tuck in to keep it safe in the base without being visible through the windows! Beautiful and practical too - the recipient can display it as a decoration once it has been opened.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy looking at all the fabulous inspiration that will be available to you today.

Hugs
Carol x

What a wonderful gift container. That will spend time on a shelf being admired every year at Christmas. So far, you are the only other person to use the foliage from PTI's Believe set. (I stuck with the tiny house pattern from PTI, and had trouble finding stamps that wouldn't look like "Godzilla does the holidays". Someone else "hopping" used the cutting pattern for the door and windows that you used. They are the perfect sensibility for a gingerbread house. If I don't have a chance to visit before the holidays, have a wonderful and cozy time. (We Americans, on a whole, can't imagine anything more magical than the Christmas season in England. All that wonderful architecture and carols being sung ...in the streets..by everyone. It's a lovely image.)

Your house that is also a gift box gets the most ingenious prize of this hop, Carol! Love, love, love it to pieces ~ just like it is, too, with no further blinging!! And, um, are those delicious cookies I see lurking in that photo?! They look lovely and crisp and I'd like the recipe, please!! Hugs, Darnell
