PTI Anniversary Stripe birthday card

Hello everyone,

I'm back again with today's contribution to the ongoing Papertrey Ink anniversary festivities. Today Nichole asked us to make a project using stripes in some way, and I came up with this one :-

I took a panel of aqua mist card and embossed it with the stripe impression plate. I then cut one of the Banner Border dies and stuck it to the aqua card before using one of the stitches dies at the top. I then stitched with jute twine before sticking the panel onto my base card. I added a strip of kraft card which I cut some banner ends into, and topped it with the Boutique Borders: Birthday stamp and die. I couple of little buttons and bows finished off a girly card destined for one of my neighbours next week.

I tell you that doing such a lot of PTI cards in a short space of time has highlighted my lack of organisation. I really need to label everything - especially the dies, because it has taken nearly as much time tracking down the name of the dies as it has writing these posts:( I feel some organisation time coming on!

I'm also going to enter his into Creative Card Crew - Keep it Simple and Sweet

and the 2 sisters challenge to use embossing.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Hello Carol
Oh my goodness, your cards just get better and better, I love this one especially the colours.

  2. Pretty card! Such a soft color combo. It's worth it to take the time to organize your stuff. It's saved me so much time this week!

  3. Such a lovely gorgeous card huggles Sue xx

  4. I hear you on the organizing my desk is a huge mess. This is sooo pretty and creative Carol. Love the way you stitched and topped the card with that die...simply elegant!

  5. This card is perfect! I love the design and may CASE it in the future if thats OK?!! I have most of my dies organized like Jennifer McGuire and I really like her storage system. My problem is remembering exactly what dies I have even though they are categorized by theme (have this same problem with my stamps). I was thinking of gradually cutting examples and gluing them into some sort of book/binder that I can flip through. If you come up with any ideas, please share!!

  6. Oh, this is perfect. Love the design, and your execution is flawless. Every time I try to use that IP, it ends up crooked, and it is not such a forgiving plate--every bit of crookedness always shows. Great job.

  7. A beautiful CAS card. The colours are lovely. Thanks for joining us at the 2 sisters challenge blog.XX

  8. Gorgeous...I love your take on the "stripes" theme! Thank you for playing along with us at Creative Card Crew!

  9. This is a fabulous CAS design! I love that the sentiment is the focal point.

Thanks for playing along with us at Creative Card Crew!
