Penny Black Nose to Nose and WPlus9 Christmas card

Hello and welcome to the June challenge over at ABC Christmas Challenges

The lovely Helen is our host and
our themes this time are

L for Little
and/or
M for Masking

Helen has a couple of prizes this month

and

I went with M for Masking and had fun making this card

I stamped the polar bears first then covered them with a mask I made by stamping the image again on some masking paper and fussy cutting it. I placed a snowbank mask over the bears to cover the bottom of the panel and then inked the sky with three colours of distress oxide ink.  I stamped some trees from Crafters Companion repeatedly over the snowbank to create a tree line and then removed the masks.

I coloured the image with Copic markers and stamped and white embossed the sentiment from WPlus9. To finish off, I splattered water on the sky and mopped it up to give the stars, and added some glitter to the trees and snowbank which you can see best in the small photo at the top.

The sharp-eyed among you will have spotted my masking mistake with the bears! I didn't spot it myself until I took the photographs when I realised that I had forgotten to cut the mask in between the bear's heads so the tree hadn't stamped in the gap like it should.  Oh dear I said!!!

The talented Design Team have lots of lovely inspiration for you over on the blog and you can link up your entry there. Which of the themes are you going to try?

I'd like to play along with

Thanks for stopping by

Hugs

This polar bear pair is adorable against the snowy backdrop! I have a feeling very few people will notice the missing tree base. ;)
