Penny Black Dainty Doves and WPlus9 Pretty Patches Christmas card

Hello friends and welcome to the February Challenge over at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenges. Yay for getting to February and being another month closer to spring. I don't know about you but I always struggle in Jan/Feb and then always perk up come March when the flowers and leaves start appearing in earnest. We do have some snowdrops peeping through and shoots of daffodils are appearing so I know mother nature is busy getting everything ready. Anyhoo, back to our challenge - any Christmas card will be welcomed but why not have more fun by playing with our twist this month which is Xmas Wings?

I used my NBUS Penny Black Dainty Doves for this card and kept my resolve to try more postage friendly designs by keeping it fairly flat.

I also used the Reverse Confetti Stitched Hexagonal Tag die and placed the dove over the hole so it looks more like a panel than a tag. Well, you've got to get as much flexibility from your stash as you can, haven't you?

The sentiment is from an old WPlus9 stamp set called Pretty Patches: Tree and I think it goes well with a dove of peace image. I found the scattering of hearts in my leftovers and thought they added a good finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs
Carol x

Lovely card Carol...a serene image and sentiment. i am with you on the 'spring front'. Our snowdrops are blooming as are the little daffs in the front garden, but I cant help think winter has yet to be..maybe it will snow at Easter!!

I Love the design on this one card, the dove is perfect, in fact, so is everything else :)

It is so beautiful and I love that dove and the pretty sentiment. Your layout is great too. I also try to keep my cards postage friendly. Especially with the cost of stamps the way they have gone up I just cannot afford to add too much extra postage.

I feel the same way about January and February Carol, dark, damp and cold BUT the nights and mornings are getting lighter, the bulbs are popping up so spring is on the way!! Your card is gorgeous, love the hexagon panel and the lovely dove xx

What a good idea to pop the sweet dove over the hole of the tag and stretch those dies out even further. Such a beautiful card. Yes I find January a very long month too and with the days being short of 'light' x.

So beautiful....love how you cut that red cardstock for your background, so striking and makes your dove really shine.

What a stunning card Carol! I so love the peace dove, so beautiful is that image. Your sentiment is perfect for it as well. I love your color combo and that tag you made into a panel for your card base. Yep, a great way to stretch your stash! I'm ready for the grey, gloom and doom to leave. Right now, I would just settle for a week of sunny days! But am excited for spring to wing it's way here as well. Hang in there, spring is right around the corner. Hugs, Brenda

This is so beautiful... I love the dove! The storm is raging here right now and smashed some of the daffodils that came up early...
