Things seem very strange at the moment, with the passing of HRH Queen Elizabeth. She was crowned in the year I was born and as I am not particularly a follower of royalty, I was surprised by my tearful reaction to the news. I feel sad for all the royal family, both in their grief and in the burden of the new roles they must now undertake. Although they have been preparing for it, I don't think they can fully understand the changes they will have to accept until they have stepped into the next phase in their lives. I wish them well in roles most of us would never want to undertake.
Anyway, I'm here to welcome you to another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More. I hope you are all well and getting some crafty time to yourself. There is a definite autumn vibe going on with the trees in my garden but the weather is still beautiful and summery without being too hot so that suits me down to the ground.
This time we have our Birthday Challenge and I came up with this card
I used my new The Greetery Floral Arches layering stencil set and a variety of ink colours to create the floral surround and then cut it with the accompanying die. For the centre, I used the Arched Sentiments stamp and die set and added the white embossed stamped and die cut sentiment which I stacked a couple of times to make it pop. This was placed on another arched die before laying it on the card base.
To finish off I added some stickles to the centres of some flowers and die-cut a few of the tiny flowers and leaves included in the set to add to the centre arch to create a bit more dimension.
September is always a busy month for birthdays and my stash is running so low that this one has already been posted in time for a special birthday!
If you visit the ATSM blog, you will see lots of birthday inspiration and you can enter your contributions to the gallery over there.
