Die'sire Decorative Star Christmas card

Hello everyone, it's time for another Christmas Challenge over at Happy Little Stampers, and this time our optional twist is 'star'

Once again, a lucky winner will receive a $15 discount at the Happy Little Stampers Store

As you know, I am on a mission to get lots of Christmas cards in my stash by keeping to my resolution of making at least 2 copies of every card I make until December, and so far I'm keeping up with it. Well I had to keep to one as my other resolutions have already hit the road lol!

This is my star card which would be easy to mass produce and is relatively flat for posting.

1) Take 2 pieces of white card, drop dots of Pebeo Drawing Gum over them and leave it to dry.

2) Take 2 shades of Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens (I used Cobalt and Arctic), and do a watercolour wash over the drawing gum. Once it has dried, rub off the gum to reveal a starry sky. On the left you can see the gum and on the right I have rubbed it off. Cut the card with a stitched rectangle die. I haven't managed to capture the sparkle on my photographs but it has a lovely subtle sparkle in real life.

3) Stamp the 'O holy Night' sentiment from Paper Smooches A Blessed Christmas with Versamark ink and emboss with white detail embossing powder.

4) Die cut the Die'sire Create-a-card Decorative Star from white card, remove the central star, and adhere it to the blue card. Raise the panel on the base card with some fun foam.

5) Stamp and die cut the bow from the Papertrey Ink Merry Kiss-mas stamp set and fix it to the top of the star.

I hope you will join in with us this month and keep adding to your Christmas card stash. Why not visit the Happy Little Stampers Blog for some more inspiration from the team and you can link your card over there. Remember that this is an anything goes Christmas Challenge and the star twist is optional.

I'd like to play along with

What a gorgeous card! Love the beautiful shades of blue with the scattering of snow - perfect background for the star. Stars are one of my favourite themes for Christmas cards so I'm glad it was our optional twist this month at HLS.
