Papertrey Ink coffeecard

Hello everyone, and a warm welcome to Dora who is a new follower this week. I am having a busy weekend with my daughter visiting and our choir is singing tonight and tomorrow afternoon so I just wanted to pop on and post a card I made for the Muse challenge which had this card from Laurie Willison to muse upon

I took the strip of stripy paper and the ampersand to use in my card, and decided to try to leave lots of white space. I also wanted to have a try at the Casology challenge which this week had the word BROWN.

I didn't have any brown stripy paper so made my own with PTI BB Super stripes and Brushed Corduroy Distress ink, and I also coloured some white card with the same ink to make the mat and thin strip of card.

Stamps from the PTI Latte Love stamp set were used for the cups and sentiments, and the pops of red were added to bring a bit of contrast to the card. The words, grind, scoop etc were actually stacked vertically and as I didn't want to cut them apart, I masked and inked each word to make the line of words at the bottom. You don't want to know how many tries it took me before I got this right but I would advise anyone else to the cut the stamp apart!!!

Short and sweet today but thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend.

Hugs
Carol x

This is a fantastic take on this week's Muse and it's brown, too, so why not link it up to CASology? Thanks for joining us at Muse this week!

Carol, this is such a sweet stack!!!

It reminds me....NO holiday around here is ever the same without the BREW!!
One Thanksgiving it snowed, and our power went out - and not only did the fridge short and break, so did our coffee pot.. We had a FULL house let me tell you. Luckily we were renting and the landlord had a spare fridge we could use and he would come the next day, we had snow so we would be okay till then.
Going out in the snow to fetch some turkey, no problem, however there sure was some grumbling over the broken pot, we had to run right out and buy one for the next morning or we would be lynched!!! LOL. I love how images bring back some great memories!

Ahh,, Well, Thanks so much for joining us this week at CASology, sure hope that you come again!
Have a wonderful weekend!

I love this, Carol. The design and colours give it a really retro feel. I know exactly what you mean about cutting up stamps, I keep seeing it done in tutorials but can't bring myself to do it! x
