Happy Little Stampers and Designs by Ryn Mixed Media Card

Hello everyone and welcome to another Mixed Media Challenge over at Happy Little Stampers

As you can see we are asking for you to somehow include water in your project this time, and I had great fun coming up with my card this time.

I started off by putting a few colours of distress ink on a glass mat, spritzing with water and smooshing some watercolour card through it. Once it had dried, I stamped it with an Impression Obsession background stamps called Cover a Card Scratches. When that was dried, I stamped again with the script stamp from the HLS Thinking of You stamp set, which finished off the background beautifully. On top of this I stamped the Water Droplets stamp from Designs by Ryn, an NBUS stamp that I just had to get after seeing around Pinterest, and highlighted each drop with a white gel pen to emphasize the dimension.I die cut a stitched circle from the watercolour card, along with a plain black circle to mat it onto, and placed it on a square card with some fun foam.

For the greeting, I did some surgery on a stamp from the Clearly Besotted April Showers Additions stamp set, and just used the bit I cut off, stamped in black Versafine ink. I then die-cut the letters (from Papertrey Ink) for the rainbow and coloured them with my Zig Watercolour Brushpens before arranging them on a curve and adding them to the card. Truth be told, that was the hardest part of making this card! I was so tempted to 'arrange' them at jaunty angles because I was getting so fed up with them - but I persisted and got it more or less right in the end.

I can't wait to see what you come up with this time, and if you'd like some more inspiration to whet your appetite, why not dash over to the Happy Little Stampers blog to see what my amazing Team Mates have to show you. You will also find links to lots of Video Tutorials on using Mixed Media.

This is fantastic Carol. Great idea to have your sentiment be the actual rainbow, and now I need those rain drop stamps. I need to see if I can track them down.
