where we are being asked to use purple and green. Well that certainly reminds me of the echinacea or coneflower that blooms in our garden later in the year, so I came up with this card using an NBUS die from Joanna Sheen simply called 'ecinacea'.
I die cut the flower in white and painted it using re-inkers, and when it had dried, I added a few strokes with watercolour pencils to add some detail. The greeting comes from Papertrey Ink Birthday Bash sentiments, and I stamped this in two colours on some white card before using their canvas impression plate to add some texture. I had some opaque purple vellum in my stash and I embossed it with a We R Memory Keepers embossing folder that sadly has no name on it
I assembled the card and raised the flower heads on some foam tape, added a gem dot for the i and a little heart finished it off. Although the flowers are raised slightly, this is actually a very flat card that will go through the post easily and at the cheaper rate which helps with saving the pennies!
