Papertrey Ink birthday card

Blog-hop-logo
Hello everyone. Today is the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop and this time Nichole has given us a watercolour challenge with this inspiration picture of watercoloured ice lollies and a grey script sentiment over the top.

Blog hop inspiration

I decided to go with a floral theme and used one of the smaller flowers from Pretty Peonies, which I am ashamed to say has been sitting in my stash unused for more than two years. I took a panel of white card and randomly stamped the flowers using a pale grey ink.

I watercoloured the flowers and leaves, and then added a blue wash between them. Once everything was dry, I stamped the sentiment ( from Wet Paint 3) in grey ink using my Misti. I had to stamp a few times to get enough colour down to give some contrast with the background.

Next I used 2 rectangle dies to cut the centre and outer frame, and matted both of them onto hibiscus burst card. I glued the outer frame flat on the card and then raised the centre panel with some fun foam. As I wanted to keep the design CAS, just a few little glitter dots finished it off.

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. PTI's Blog Hoppers always amaze me with their fabulous projects.

I'd like to play along with

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs
Carol x

What a pretty card this is! So soft and gentle. Lovely colors and flowers. It's good to finally use your two year old stamp, isn't it? I'm afraid much of my never before used stuff is already considered retro, but I'm working on using it. I'm so glad you shared this in our Retro Rubber flower challenge!

Carol, such a soft and lovely card. Great watercoloring! Yes, that MISTI does come in handy for helping to darken stamp images through multiple inkings... I love mine! Hope to see you play along with Retro Rubber often!!
