Papertrey Ink Scene-it Bethlehem Christmas card

Hello everyone and welcome to the July Christmas Challenge over at Happy Little Stampers. The optional twist this time is 'die cuts' so there is lots of scope with this one!

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.

Here is my card

1) Die cut a scalloped rectangle from silver mirror card using a die from MFT Blueprints 27 die set.

2) Die cut some craft card with a stitched rectangle die and emboss it with the Papertrey Ink Canvas Impression Plate to give some texture. Emboss some extra kraft card for the die cuts.

3) Stamp and white emboss the sentiment from Happy Little Stampers Mixed Christmas Sentiments towards the bottom of the card.

4) Die cut the scene using the PTI Scene-it Bethlehem dies. I cut the sky die with blue card, and the buildings and sand die with kraft. I also cut the buildings die with yellow card.

5) Ink the buildings with brown ink and colour the palm trees with alcohol markers.

6)  Die cut a scalloped circle with mirror card and build up the layers to create the scene. Use a glue pen in all the windows and transfer the windows from the yellow card. I admit that this is a bit fiddly and takes some time, but it does add a great finishing touch to the card.

7) Paint over the sky with a Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen.

How are you getting on with your Christmas cards? I am pretty pleased with my little pile so far and I can't believe that we are more than halfway through the year already! How did that happen?

As usual we have lots of inspiration over on the Happy Little Stampers blog and it would be great to have you join us this time.

I'd like to play along with
Hugs

Your card moved me to another reality, thousands of years ago to the ancient Bethlehem ...
It's so new to me when it's not a Christmas tree, but palm and comet bring to mind the birth of Christ. Incredible inspiration, Carol.
