Penny Black 'in the winter' and Clearly Besotted Christmas card

Hello everyone and welcome to the March challenge over at ABC Christmas Challenges

This month our themes are

E - Emboss

F - Frills

G - Glitter

Our Sponsor this time is

and I have a little prize to give away too

I don't know about you but we have had some very cold and frosty days around here lately and I have seen lots of frosty bare branches looking beautiful against a blue sky, so I was inspired by that to make my card. I chose to combine the embossing and glitter challenges:-

1) Die cut the Penny Black 'in the winter' tree die from white card and from brown card. Offset the trees by snipping apart the brown trees and gluing them behind the white ones so it looks as though snow is lying on the branches.

2) Apply liquid grue to the trees and snowbank and sprinkle on some white glitter.

3) Place a Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil on some white card and press through it with Versamark ink. Heat emboss the snow with white embossing powder, and then ink up the card with Distress Inks in fossilized amber, wilted violet and chipped saphire.

4) Glue the glittered snowbank to the inked card and adhere it to the base card. Sie cut a star from the First Edition Build a Scene: Nativity set and glue it in the sky.

5) Finsih off by white embossing the sentiment from Clearly Besotted Ornamental style onto a strip of black card and raise it on some fun foam before adhering it to the card.

You'll find lots of inspiration over on the ABC Christmas Challenges blog and you have until 31st March to join us this time.

I'd like to play at

Gorgeous Christmas card Carol! Found you via Lorraine's blog! (You don't live too far away from me either - I'm on the tops of the East Pennines!)

Fabulous card Carol...love those layered snowy trees and your clever idea which is new to me to press through the stencil with versamark and then emboss. Snow all gone here now thankfully...fingers crossed now for Spring! xx

This is really beautiful. The glitter trees against the beautiful background is wonderful. We had a really hard frost again yesterday which froze all the water in the lane. Slightly warmer today but my daffs still haven't recovered from the snowfall xx
