Penny Black Bountiful Berries Christmas card and Clearly Besotted Joy to the World Christmas card

Hello everyone and welcome to the April challenge over at ABC Christmas Challenges.

Our host this time is the lovely Lynda from Loopyloo cards
and she has a great prize for the next winner of the challenge.

Our themes this time are

H for Houses
and
I for Icicles

and for my house card, I went with a birdhouse

I can't seem to get enough of this great Bountiful Berries die from Penny Black and for this card, I coloured the branch and berries then added some snowy sparkle to the branch with glitter and glazed the berries with glossy accents. The birdhouse and birds are from My Favourite Things and the sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.

The next card actually stumped me for a while. I went through all my supplies and couldn't find a single icicle on anything. I almost decided to go with snowflakes when I had an idea of how to make some icicles.

I laid out a line of Nuvo Crystal Glaze onto a non-stick sheet, lifted the sheet until the glaze ran down a little, and then covered the glaze with glitter and left it to dry overnight. Not perfect but good enough for a first try.

For the rest of the card, I stencilled falling snow onto some white card with versamark ink and embossed it with white powder. Then I inked the sky before adding a sparkle snow mound that I made with double-sided adhesive and glitter. The cute little tree is from Clearly Besotted and I embossed it with some green sparkle E/P.
I die cut a square from the centre of the image, backed it with a blue mat and raised it on fun foam before adding it back.

The team have some lovely creations to inspire you over on the blog and if decide to join us, you can link up your entry over there too.

I'd like to play along at

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs
Carol x

Both the cards you made are fantastic. The season's tweetings is so cute and well designed with the bird house and branch. And, I love the scene you made with all that sparkly snow. The sentiment is perfect with it.

Wonderful cards, Carol! Your first one is perfection, with the single branch and tiny sweet birdhouse. And excuse me, but your icicles are terrific!

Great couple of cards Carol. The bird house hanging from the berry branch is gorgeous - and the way you did the icicles is inspired. xx

Your first card is so stinking cute Carol! I love that berry branch, but it is the little bird house that steals the show. lol Love your cloud background too. Such a fabulous card! You got so clever with your second card Carol, I don't own anything icicle stamps or dies either, but how clever of you to use Nuvo Crystal Glaze to make your own icicles! That was just genius! Love how this card turned out too. Your background is just lovely, love the snow hill and love, love, love that little tree. I think you knocked this right out the park! Hugs, Brenda

My word, these are lovely! I am more than a little bit smitten with the inclusion of a crisp blue sky, bedecked with fluffy white clouds, used in the context of a holiday season greeting. That's not something we see all the time, but which works so well to convey an even greater sense of upbeat cheer to one's recipient(s).
